Kellyanne Conway and other top White House staff caught using private RNC email system: report

BRAD REED
25 JAN 2017 AT 13:44 ET

This past summer, Republicans were fond of saying Hillary Clinton ought to be “locked up” because she endangered national security using a home-brew email server during her tenure as Secretary of State.

Now Newsweek reports that several members of the Trump administration are going to be using private Republican National Committee email accounts while serving in the White House.

This is an issue, the publication notes, because U.S. intelligence agencies claim that “the RNC email system… was hacked during the 2016 race.”

Included among the administration officials who have RNC email accounts are Kellyanne Conway, Jared Kushner, Sean Spicer and Steve Bannon.

“They better be careful after making such a huge ruckus over the private email over at the State Department,” former Bush administration ethics attorney Richard Painter tells Newsweek.

To defend it and try to minimize it - then express outrage when it's someone else is hypocritical. They will get away with it exactly for that reason and it is our own damn fault.

I fail to see how another of many concerning issues, is a constructed distraction for anyone who can hold two or more thoughts in their brain simultaneously.

Nor do I see how holding the GOP to the same standards they hold others to is a trap.

I think ignoring it merely as a circus plays directly into their hands, allowing them another tool to frame the narrative.

Senior Trump administration staffers including Kellyanne Conway, Jared Kushner, Sean Spicer and Steve Bannon have active accounts on a Republican National Committee email system, Newsweek has learned.

"Active accounts" means??

"It’s not clear whether or how Trump staffers are using the RNC email addresses"

It says it is unknown if they are actually still using these email addresses or if they are left over from the campaign. It's also interesting that they are required by law to maintain separate non-government email accounts for political activities, they are not allowed to use the government system for political functions.

It's a whole bunch of speculation with words like "unclear", "if", "maybe". It would make sense that they all have RNC email accounts because they just got done running a campaign under the RNC. Obama White House members had DNC accounts to coordinate his political functions. If trump endorses a candidate or they coordinate a fundraiser or anything political they have to separate that business from government business and systems. It would actually be against the law if they DIDN'T have separate accounts and conducted all their business on the government system.
