It is better to boycott Trump clothing. When a line is not selling, the retailer will remove it
to make room for lines that sell.

Is it really fair to boycott a place like Amazon? I realize the article says they carry some of his products, but Amazon pretty much carries everything. I don't think they are necessarily responsible for the fact one of T's books is available for sale on their site.

The head of Amazon is a staunch enemy of Donald anyways, so I'm not sure whether boycotting a company whose owner opposes T is a good idea.

Plus I'm already addicted to Amazon, so it would be tough to give up.

It sells all the clothing lines and shoes and home goods.

It says right on the site, under "Entities NOT being boycotted at this time": Bookstores selling books by or about Donald / Trump family

Besides, there are plenty of reasons to limit your exposure to Amazon. It has horrendous business practices, strong-arming publishers and retailers, and pretty horrible labor practices (see http://www.salon.com/2014/02/23/worse_than_wal_mart_amazons_sick_brutality_and_secret_history_of_ruthlessly_intimidating_workers/)

If you live somewhere where you don't have access to products, I guess Amazon is a boon. But I live in a large city, and I don't want it to become a vast wasteland where there are no retail shops. So I try to shop locally, in a real store, whenever possible.

Lastly: Amazon does not always have the lowest prices. When I'm looking for things online (or even buying in a store) I always compare prices. Often, Amazon's price is equal to or higher than a retailer. And when it's not, your retailer will often match their price. Just tell them and they happily agree. (I've done this for printer toner, plumbing fixtures, etc.).

Avoiding the Trump merchandise, a very small portion of a department store's inventory, is better. Of course, my days of shopping for anything new are probably numbered again, this ignorant jackass will have me living out of the thrift shop like his GOP predecessors all did.

I will avoid anything with the Trump name or associated with Trump businesses. I've done that for decades, even during the few times in my life I had a little extra money. The stuff is cheaply made offshore and sold for top dollar as though the name on the label is supposed to compensate for the all too ephemeral nature of the goods.

I will say that any store that has an active promotion of Trump merchandise will have to do without my business until all the signs and other adverts are gone. I don't care if they stock cheap shit that won't sell. I do care if they shove that name in my face.

to tell them they really shouldn't be carrying Trump family products, because it represents a conflict of interest with the government. And that you are very unhappy they are carrying them.

I had to go to Nordstrom's last week (before the inauguration)--well, didn't HAVE to go but I needed a cosmetics item and was nearby for a doctor's appointment. I thought about dropping into customer service to mention this to them. But I honestly didn't see any Trump merchandise in the store, briefly scanning the signs in the women's clothing and shoe departments, and I was running late. I do see they advertise a few items online, if you search by brand. So next time I go there, I will definitely stop in and place my complaint.

It doesn't hurt to tell these stores that you feel it is wrong for them to be selling Trump products, even if you don't threaten a boycott.
