WOW - WAPO: "If he cannot accept reality, he is not fit to carry out the duties of the president"

Jennifer Rubin
Maybe Trump isn’t ‘lying’

............

Schumer calls that a political problem. He gently offered, “In general you cannot run a country unless you know the facts. If you’re going to believe your own facts, whether it’s about what Putin is doing in the world or what jobs or companies are doing here, you aren’t going to be able to govern, so I worry about it.” The shorter version: If he cannot accept reality, he is not fit to carry out the duties of the president.

We are not calling — yet — for invocation of Section 4 of the 25th Amendment. (“Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.”)

We are calling for someone, perhaps his children, to see if they can prevail upon him to stop behaving in this way, for if not, legitimate worries will mount about whether he is able to carry out his duties. We also are saying that Republicans need to be pressed to state their view: Is he lying or is he unable to separate what he wants to believe and what exists, literally, in front of his eyes? The first makes him morally unfit, and was the basis upon which many #NeverTrumpers refused to vote for him. If the latter, they — and we all — have a constitutional crisis the likes of which we have never seen. With Trump, however, we have learned the past provides no guarantees.

I live in Texas and that yuckface is my Senator. I've been calling regularly. I know it serves no purpose, but it's my right to call and I am damn well going to call.

Today's phone call was about the "millions and millions of illegal votes". I was talking with a staff member and I asked what Senator Cruz's position was on the fact that Donald Trump (I refuse to use the work President and Donald Trump together) was insisting that there were millions of illegal votes when we all knew it was a lie.

"Well, that's an opinion" was the response, to which I replied, "No, sir, it's a lie. L-I-E."

These people don't give a damn about what Trump is doing. They are looking at ways that his behavior will benefit their pocketbooks and power grabs, and as you indicate, they think that they will be immune from the consequences.

I'm calling again tomorrow...

Reverse it on them. Say you are an unhappy trump/GOP supporter.
In order to be heard, I am now saying when I call and write, that I was a trump supporter and I am very concerned about the cabinet picks, for example (long list!). You said you where draining the swamp, yet now you are creating a swamp.

Same for GOP, tell them you used to be a republican, or that you are a republican, but you can't support their agenda anymore.

I think the division is so severe, if the WH gets a message from a democrat it goes in the trash.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/10028522847

The above link has some great comments about this. Some people have been doing this kind of calling for years. They have to. If they call in as a "liberal" its over.

His lies are intentional and effective. That he is telling them blatently is a distraction from the consequences.
I think it's no coincidence that he's talking about voter fraud and Bannon has "proven" that it's easy to commit voter fraud by registering in two states. Thus, this administration completely in touch with reality because they know exactly how they can validate a push for more voting restrictions. By the time they're finished, voter registration will require a passport and a birth certificate or something.
They know exactly what they are doing, and it is dangerous.

Wed Jan 25, 2017, 07:10 PM
Jan 2017

Putin doesn't fully own the rights to this cretin, and the rethugs are all too willing to let him carry out their agenda. This shit about Hillary's 3 million vote popular vote win all being as a result of voter fraud is yet another of their strategies to restrict voting access and to prevent more likely liberal voters from participation. They'll do whatever they have to maintain their majorities in Congress and have a lock on the WH for the next generation. In the short term, say for the next congressional elections in two years, they can restrict, challenge and do whatever it takes to remain in control. After 2020 when the census occurs (if it's allowed to remain in place and not repealed by the expected ultra-conservative SCOTUS), they'll gerrymander districts to hold onto their power. Cheeto's strategy is to delegitimize Hillary's "win" at the polls to serve their purpose short term.

All that said, Cheeto is still demented. He's suffering from Narcissistic Personality Disorder (and maybe just a touch of early dementia) and is emotionally, psychologically and morally unfit to govern. He's a danger to the entire planet. The rethugs probably all know full well that he's essentially a man walking around with an arsenal of nuclear hand grenades with the pins pulled just daring anyone to challenge him or piss him off or hurt his widdle feelings. He needs to be REMOVED. One way or another.

Tyrants, Despots and Dictators of any stripe never just lose an election. Autocratic rulers are DEPOSED or they swallow a cyanide pill or a pistol. Just take a look at how the Thousand Year Reich ended for Hitler. Or for Mussolini hanged by his bootstrap. Even Stalin was purportedly poisoned while he slept. All these vile creatures were as relentlessly, obsessively delusional and they took their countries and their enemies into complete ruin and destruction before they finally bit it. Despots don't listen and they only hold to their own whims and fancies. Nobody can argue with them to the contrary. I fully expect tRump is no different and may be worse. He's already terrifying to behold.

Every day he's allowed to remain in control of the most powerful position on the planet, we are in mortal danger.
