Official: Mexico's president 'considering' scrapping US trip

MEXICO CITY (AP) — Mexico's president is "considering" canceling next week's visit to Washington following President Donald Trump's order to begin construction of a wall between the two countries, a senior official said Wednesday.

But President Enrique Pena Nieto, while he did not directly mention the trip in a speech late Wednesday, appeared not to rule out going.

He said he would await reports from the high-level team of Mexican officials currently meeting with Trump administration officials in Washington.

"Based on the final report from the Mexican officials who are in Washington right now ... I will make decisions about what to do next," Pena Nieto said.

Pena Nieto said he regrets and condemns the decision to build the wall, saying "I have said time and time again, Mexico will not pay for any wall."

2. Mexico's President should not be considering...

cancelling his meeting with (not my president) Trump, it should already be cancelled. Just like all of us American's who must be vigilant and willing to stand up against him, put a stop to his bullying tactics to negotiate a supposedly better deal.
