This Country Might Not Last Until Mid Terms.

Trump and the GOP might destroy so much that we will not be able to have a fair election by 2018. We are only just a few days into this god damned disaster in the making. Hell it already is a disaster.

We are where we are because of vote manipulation. It will not be corrected by 2018. The GOP will have time to make matters worse. Unless some GOPPERS come to their senses very little will change.

The other issue is how much they will rearrange the safety net landscape. Also we are very vulnerable to being dragged into military conflict more than we are now.

That situation has effected more than Trump. She will need valve replacement surgery.

Now to explain. I have followed events since Reagan and we have kept drifting toward this point ever since. What we are seeing now is the completion of the Reagan revolution. Everything that is happening right now goes back to all the things he started in 1981. A lot of original RW ground work was laid during the Nixon era.

So much of my life has been witness to an erosion in this country that has diminished us in so many ways. I have been hoping that voters through years would wise up to the GOP. Well they haven't.

All appropriations begin in the House.

THEY control what happens--not Trump.

He can sign a piece of paper saying "I'm gonna build a wall" the same way Obama signed one saying "I'm gonna close GITMO" but unless the House, which controls the PURSE, authorizes money to make these things happen, they don't happen.

So again, Ways and Means. They're the POWER.

And then gets voted up by the bulk of the House, and then gets through the Senate...

I think it'll be a while before we see this legislation.

The oppo ads write themselves, especially when you tell people making minimum wage how much their taxes are gonna go up to fund this boondoggle...

That said, it's a special committee. They know they have the power.
It's simply incumbent upon them to use it. Even a simple delay until the midterms is sufficient (when we can flip enough seats to make life miserable at a minimum, or, if things get bad enough, start one of those so-called revolutions). As you can see, we are woefully outnumbered but we can still make trouble:

The Committee on Ways and Means is the chief tax-writing committee of the United States House of Representatives. Members of the Ways and Means Committee are not allowed to serve on any other House Committee unless they apply for a waiver from their party's congressional leadership. The Committee has jurisdiction over all taxation, tariffs, and other revenue-raising measures, as well as a number of other programs including:
Social Security
Unemployment benefits
Medicare
Enforcement of child support laws
Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, a federal welfare program
Foster care and adoption programs
The U.S. Constitution requires that all bills regarding taxation must originate in the House of Representatives. Since House procedure is that all bills regarding taxation must go through this committee, the committee is very influential, as is its Senate counterpart, the U.S. Senate Committee on Finance.

We are now under single-party rule.

Hell, the last several elections weren't fair. The results were heavily altered by gerrymandering and voter suppression.

Never give up. Stand up for what is right. Speak up. Make waves. The arc of the universe bends towards justice. As bad as everything looks and feels, it could be much much worse. It ain't the civil war, or the Somne in France, or Dresden in WWII, or Tibet under the Chinese, or Napolean's retreat from Russia.

We each have to find our courageous heart to fight and rectify this immoral and ignorant evil that has captured our country. No one ever said it would be easy. We have to calm down, get focused, get involved, and get to work. You make better decisions and are more effective when you have a clear and calm mind, than if you are upset and freaked out.

Get involved and get busy with something in your community that matters to you. We need every person to fight this evil.

Nancy Pelosi is issuing public statements, saying she feels SORRY for trump, and is PRAYING for him. Word is that Diane Feinstein may vote FOR Jeff Sessions. And meanwhile, trump is saying he wants government science findings vetted by political review boards, prior to release---that's straight out of Stalinist Russia.

Everybody wake the fuck UP. Phone and email your representatives and tell them to mount an effective opposition to this dangerous new regime.

Still, we will get past this. Trump won't last much longer, he's damaging the GOP brand too much already.
