Slate - "In First Network Interview as President, Trump Confirms Things That Arent Tremendous Are

"Disasters"

Elliot Hannon

(by the way - best line - to me - "Donald Trump still, quite literally, doesn’t know anything about anything&quot

http://www.slate.com/blogs/the_slatest/2017/01/26/donald_trump_abc_interview_shows_how_little_the_president_knows_about_anything.html

Well, that was pointless. ABC News scored the first sit-down network interview with Donald Trump five days into Trump’s world and the real takeaway of the hour-long back-and-forth with anchor David Muir is not particularly breaking news, but here it is: Donald Trump still, quite literally, doesn’t know anything about anything. If you missed the actual interview, here’s a summation of Trump’s vision. Everything that currently exists in America and the world is a “disaster.” Everything will be “tremendous” soon. How will this tremendousness happen? We’re going to be smarter and stronger. Donald Trump now speaks in tweets and David Muir let him get away with it.

Before we get to Trump’s know-nothingism, there was one exchange that provided an unusually succinct summation Trump’s worldview, if you can call it that. Muir asked if Trump’s proposed “Muslim ban” was going to anger the vast majority of Muslims around the world who are just living their lives and might feel unfairly targeted.

Pres. Trump on potential reaction to executive action on immigration: "The world is a mess. The world is as angry as it gets." pic.twitter.com/1x4MPh18wF

— ABC News (@ABC) January 26, 2017
Muir: Are you at all concerned it's going to cause more anger among Muslims around the world?

Trump: Anger? There's plenty of anger right now. How can you have more?

Muir: You don't think it will exacerbate the problem?

Trump: David, David -- I mean, I know you're a sophisticated guy. The world is a mess. The world is as angry as it gets. What you think this is going to cause a little more anger? The world is an angry place. All of this has happened. We went into Iraq. We shouldn't have gone into Iraq. We shouldn't have gotten out the way we got out. The world is a total mess. The world is a mess, David.

He is adding to the net anger of humanity. This is not offset by the number of people (who?) who might be less angry due to what's currently going on or about to go on.

By Trumpy's zany reasoning, that's where he'd go with his thinking. Logical reasoning can go wildly out of whack with a premise that's out of whack. And if anything, Trumpy's thinking is out of whack.

8. Muir did what he's supposed to do...ask questions

Don't see why someone is contending that Muir let Trump get away with something.

He asked questions and Trump answered them in Trumpspeak. That isn't Muir's fault.

I just read the transcript. Trump is proving to us all that he is very simple minded. He doesn't know anything about anything. What he does "know" is what he has made up. There are apparently no bedrock facts in his mind only his beliefs. His beliefs seem to be reactions to what he has been (sometimes very recently) he has been told, seen on television, found on his Twitter feed...

The whole thing with his contention of voter fraud is that he can't stand the idea that he didn't win the popular vote.

He is an aggressive simpleton. He learned that if you attack that that provokes a response. In conflict, he has often found opportunity and leverage. So, he is always on the attack.

He's a one trick pony.

He is already functioning as a de facto dictator signing one executive order after another. Problem is is that a lot of this stuff is going to blow up in his face.

What I'm truly afraid of is what he will do when he encounters limitations to his power. This will only get worse.

We're six days in and I can say with a straight face that we are in mortal danger. The Republicans have made a deal with the devil. Problem is that we'll all have to pay the bill.

less "angry", right Mr. Trump. Also we should have taken their oil. I know that it always makes me happy when someone takes something that belongs to me, as theirs. Ssshhhssss!!!! This guy is dumber than a doorknob, and a natural born thief ripping off his subs, students at Trump U, and anyone else he can get away with it. He's an embarrassment to this nation.

Our only hope is that if he continue to blow a gasket everytime the Press calls him out on his lies and piss his thin-skinned ass off and if we're lucky, the 70 year old baby has a stroke. We know that he doesn't eat healthy and he's overweight in spite of how tall he claims to be. His arteries have to be clogged, and there's no way he doesn't have high blood pressure. If he's going to continue to drive my blood pressure up for the next 4 years than back at you.

Republicans Reduced To Tweeting At Trump As White House Dodges Oversight

Republicans Reduced To Tweeting At Trump As White House Dodges Oversight

Not even a week in and it’s come to this. Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) took to Twitter Wednesday in order to beg President Donald Trump to issue an order to his executive branch to answer all Senator requests for records so they can do oversight.

Grassley wrote, “PresTrump pls issue order to all in ur executive branch ppl to answer all Senator requests for RECORDS so we can do oversight.”

Looks like Grassley is trying to send a Trump bat signal about the separation of powers and the Constitution, and he figured the best way would be to speak Trump’s own language – text speak for teenagers.

If he is involved in beauty contest he knows exactly the best time to conduct a survey of the women's dressing rooms to catch the most number of women (or teenage girls) taking off their underwear and putting on their swimsuit. We know this because he told us and I believe him on this point.
