I wanted us to stand for principles not personalities and to emphasize the strength of our Democratic platform. I want us to stand proudly now, not be vilified for whatever happened before in the heat of political drama. I want us to resist the Trump maladministration boldly and strongly and fight for a future for us and the generations after us and for our country and our planet.

Sure that election didn't go the way I wanted it to, but eventually we need to figure out how to work together (to get what *WE* want). Right now democrats have no control of congress or the White House, this election was a disaster for us, we need to learn from it.

We should be outraged at what Trump is doing but we shouldn't be mocking people who voted for him. We need to understand why they did it and figure out how we run a campaign which speaks to everyone in 2018.

Post count is irrelevant. Sign up date generally is as well, but it's curious in this case.

Why would someone have such an interest in board wars that happened largely when they weren't here.

Allegedly.

That's the point. Which you obviously missed. So, actually I am not in a glass house throwing rocks. At all.

It's hard to keep track of all the posters here. (I have often wondered how many posters here actually recognize me as a regular poster).

For example, is NYC SKP a poster there?

Also, do you know how much DU's traffic has declined by since the primaries?

Assholes like them are going to spew the same mal-informed nonsense they have been spewing. JPR is just a troll site, and fun to mock once in a while but there are other others out there that claim to be progressive, but are in reality just anti-Democrat Party.

So while I don't care what they do over there, exactly, I do care about the absolute shit that gets spread as truth. Scorched earth is not a technique that works without causing horrible damage to our most vulnerable people.

handing out cookies in Yemen or Somalia or sudan – I hear they are hungry.

The OP used some website called macedoniaonline. It claims that Nuland "will be remembered for being behind at least a dozen coups around the world, with the most famous being of course in Ukraine.

She is also responsible for the fiasco in Lybia, Egypt, Syria, Yemen, the very successful coups in Bulgaria where a new Government was installed three times in fourteen months, and is behind the unsuccessful coups in Hungary and Macedonia to name just a few."

54. Macedonia is a hub for pro-Trump fake news sites
Thu Jan 26, 2017, 07:59 PM
Jan 2017

Over the past year, the Macedonian town of Veles (population 45,000) has experienced a digital gold rush as locals launched at least 140 US politics websites. These sites have American-sounding domain names such as WorldPoliticus.com, TrumpVision365.com, USConservativeToday.com, DonaldTrumpNews.co, and USADailyPolitics.com. They almost all publish aggressively pro-Trump content aimed at conservatives and Trump supporters in the US.

The young Macedonians who run these sites say they don’t care about Donald Trump. They are responding to straightforward economic incentives: As Facebook regularly reveals in earnings reports, a US Facebook user is worth about four times a user outside the US. The fraction-of-a-penny-per-click of US display advertising — a declining market for American publishers — goes a long way in Veles. Several teens and young men who run these sites told BuzzFeed News that they learned the best way to generate traffic is to get their politics stories to spread on Facebook — and the best way to generate shares on Facebook is to publish sensationalist and often false content that caters to Trump supporters.

As a result, this strange hub of pro-Trump sites in the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia is now playing a significant role in propagating the kind of false and misleading content that was identified in a recent BuzzFeed News analysis of hyperpartisan Facebook pages. These sites open a window into the economic incentives behind producing misinformation specifically for the wealthiest advertising markets and specifically for Facebook, the world’s largest social network, as well as within online advertising networks such as Google AdSense.

The ‘entire senior level’ of State Department management just resigned to avoid working for Trump: report

The Washington Post’s Josh Rogin reports that “the entire senior level of management officials resigned Wednesday” as part of an “ongoing mass exodus of senior foreign service officers who don’t want to stick around for the Trump era.”
According to the Post’s sources, the action started shortly after Tillerson visited the State Department’s headquarters in Foggy Bottom on Wednesday, when the State Department’s long-serving undersecretary for management, Patrick Kennedy, resigned. The Post claims that the Trump administration had been looking to replace Kennedy.

Kennedy was only the start, however, as three other top State Department officials announced on Wednesday that they were following him out the door: Assistant Secretary of State for Administration Joyce Anne Barr, Assistant Secretary of State for Consular Affairs Michele Bond and Ambassador Gentry O. Smith, director of the Office of Foreign Missions.

I did read it. There are comments on both sides but most are saying that anything that hurts Trump is a good thing and a mass resignation hurts Trump.

Most on DU think (D)s should not be working with Trump when it comes to passing legislation. Why is not working for Trump in his administration different?

P.S. Accusing me of presenting alternative facts was insulting.

Posts on DU are a bad source of information about JPR. Posts on JPR are a bad source of information about DU.

In each case, a thread about "We are sooooo much better than they are" will draw a lot of enthusiastic support.

Of course, noting the major areas of substantive agreement wouldn't help anyone's sense of moral superiority. Therefore, the usual pattern for posting on either site about the other is to reverse cherry-pick, by selecting some unrepresentative posts and hyping them.

As someone who reads both sites, I find the whole situation very depressing.
