In a private meeting with congressional Republicans this week, Vice President Pence vowed that the Trump administration would pursue a wide-ranging probe of voting rolls in the United States to examine whether millions of people voted illegally in the 2016 election as President Trump has charged.

“What I can tell you is that I would anticipate that the administration is going to initiate a full evaluation of voting rules in the country, the overall integrity of our voting system in the wake of this past election,” Pence told Republican lawmakers during a question-and-answer session at their annual policy retreat in Philadelphia this week.

The vice president’s comments, captured in a recording obtained by The Post, give the clearest picture yet of how the Trump administration intends to investigate whether three to five million people voted illegally in the 2016 election, an unsupported claim President Trump has made.

In the recording, Pence invoked a Pew Research study that Trump has falsely claimed shows widespread voter fraud.

Trump will singlehandedly save democracy due to the greatest investigation ever. Not only will it prove he won the popular vote, the gop will pick up the Trump's torch of maniacal obsession and run with it as reason to spend 25 billion on a symbolic, useless wall...and end sanctuary cities....deport dreamers....and install even more stringent voter ID laws...and cut safety nets that might benefit someone undeserving thereby affording tax cuts. We laugh at Trumps pathetic obsession with image, but much more is on the line than popular vote totals. With the gop, the ends always justify the means.

It is no accident that this taps into xenophobic anxiety, and is initiating an attack on something black citizens fought hard for and hold dear.

The multiple registrations among Trump administration is probably news they leaked to provide "evidence" for how easy it is to vote fraudulently. This confluence of events is not a deep dark conspiracy and people are missing the obvious strategy by joining the call for investigations (which would be partisan and biased under this administration) over the registration hypocrisy and suggesting Trump lies randomly because he's delusional.
