Fuck the forced birthers AND their march!

One of the most pernicious lies in the history of American politics is the one which insinuates that pregnant women occasionally wake up one morning and say, "You know what? I don't want a kid. I think I'll go get an abortion."
I've posted before that my darling wife is still alive by virtue of the therapeutic abortion of a child we desperately wanted; but which was conceived via an ectopic pregnancy. I rushed her to the ER in a pool of blood, and they took the fetus to save her life. Let them put that on their fucking signs.

As to the issue of intact dilation and extraction (partial-birth abortion to the ignorant mob), it is used in only the most extreme situations involving fetal and/or maternal viability, and is certainly one of the most painful decisions a woman could ever be forced into. Walk a mile in their shoes "pro-lifers". Then shove your signs up your collective asses.

Defunding Planned Parenthood would result in more unwanted pregnancies and therefore more abortions. The Republicans know it, but they don't give a fuck. It's simply red meat for the ignorant rabble they call their "base", and might garner them a few votes the next time they face a primary challenge from some idiot tea-bagger. As for the women, children, and families who will suffer ... oh well, you can't make an omelette without breaking a few eggs.
Piss on those opportunistic shitheads and their dumb-ass "base".

And the only reason that abortion is a political issue rather than solely a medical issue, is that Republicans can campaign and fund raise off of it. If Roe v Wade was overturned tomorrow, Mike Pence's first thought would be, "SHIT! I'm going to have to come up with a new way to raise money!" Fuck him and the hypocritical previously pro-choice shitweasel who chose him as a running mate.

OK. I got it out of my system. I apologize for the coarse language and the incoherent rage, but this still hits close to home.

Thank you for sharing your story. I had an abortion because I was raped by my uncle. And no I don't regret it. I felt relieved afterwards. I felt empowered because I wasn't revictimized by having to go through a pregnancy. I was 13 years old. I became a mother to an amazing son when the time was right. My life would not be in the wonderful place it is without having access to abortion. Too many want to take the power, freedom and choice away from the women and young girls. They want to punish her. They want to guilt her and shame her. I will continue to fight for this very important freedom. I have walked in those shoes. I was blamed and ridiculed. A priest told me I was going to go to hell. There was no kindness and compassion for my pain and suffering. I was told I was being selfish. I was told I was evil and disgusting and that there would be hell to pay. So now I pay it forward, when I counsel young girls and women, I give them all their options. I don't guilt or shame them into making the decision as I see fit. I let them know all the information so they can make informed decisions. I treat them with kindness and compassion and love. I will not stand in judgment of them. I will be damned if I let anyone else judge them. I will protect them and fight for their right to choose until I take my last breath.

3. I've always thought that too, that the RW will never overturn Roe bc they'd lose their pet "issue"

and lose lots of single-issue voters, fundraising etc.

With donald however, i'm not so sure. He might put in judges who will literally overturn it.

"...we are frustrated (though not very surprised) to hear that Vice President Mike Pence and Kellyanne Conway are speakers at the event. There are some that see their presence as a good thing, as it will undoubtedly bring more attention to the March. But NPLM does not share the same pro-life values as the Trump administration.
We agree only on the ideological stance that abortion is wrong. Past that, the platform they represent is horribly and boldly anti-life, as seen in their stances on immigration, workers’ rights, healthcare, torture, war, and the death penalty. Furthermore, we see no evidence that the Trump administration shares our goal of alleviating the social and economic factors that create the demand for abortion in the first place."

These seem to be people with whom communication is important.

it boggles my mind.

My son will be 40 on Monday and there's no way I could've raised him myself without my family helping me. I was lucky.
