Never heard of this group, but looks interesting. Hope they can get something done!
The only real way we can put our democracy back in the hands of all Americans, instead of a privileged, powerful few, is to amend the Constitution, said Udall.
The amendment would overturn the Citizens United decision, handed down seven years ago by the Supreme Court in 2010. And it would restore our ability to stop billionaires and corporations from spending gobs of money on politicians and elections.
Democrats and Republicans continue to be united on this one issue: 80% oppose the Citizens United ruling. Additionally, 18 states have officially voted to do away with Citizens Unitedtwo states passed their resolutions just this past November. The state of Maine successfully passed a campaign finance law empowering small donor participation in their elections. Plus, 750 cities and towns have passed local resolutions for an amendment against unlimited money in politics.
Every time this issue is on the ballot, we win.
This movement is massive. And we are going to continue to fight, continue to propose resolutions, and continue to push our reps to pass an amendment until we end big money in politics for good.

(15,635 posts)One of the owners of Ben and Jerry ice cream started it. You can get a stamp from them and stamp all your currency with: STAMP MONEY OUT OF POLITICS. I've been doing it off and on for several years now. My wife has actually got bills that I or someone else in the area stamped back at the register. She's a teacher. Another time one of her students came up to her and showed her a bill with the stamp on it. That let her explain Citizens United in response to the students question.
Go to the site -- you can log in and actually see where people live who have ordered stamps or, as they say, joined the stampede.

This is a simple, easy to do action that most of us could do to help raise awareness.
