When the Nazis made Jews in Belgium wear the Star of David, it was a failure at first because MANY Christians wore it.
I will register as a Muslin as a FUCK YOU to Trump, Bannon, and the Red Neck, slack jawed Trump supporters.
Who's with me?

(35,045 posts)Sign up again and again, use it as a fake diary of sorts if this sort of thing would have room for comments, if this thing ever comes to fruition, and with the orange menace, anything is possible... we need to find lots of ways to attack this thing.

(2,573 posts)and then the folks who claim they are Christian...I mean LOL.... Jesus would approve of these Muslim comments? It's appalling and quite shameful.

(25,258 posts)My family died in 1915 at the hands of the Muslim Turks. However, during that time some people chose to become Muslim to save their lives. They had to turn their backs on everything they had ever known, they had to change their names to Turkish Muslim names and basically had to wipe out their identities.
I could never do this to be family.
I don't think the Muslim registry will happen. It would be unconstitutional. Trump may write an executive order, but it won't hold up in court.

(938 posts)I really like the idea of mucking up Trump's unconstitutional Muslim ban, but I simply can't stomach identifying as one. The religion is far too oppressive of women, homosexuals, and people of differing beliefs for me to personally identify with it.
I'll proudly stand with Muslims in solidarity and protest, but I'll not identify as one. Simply a bridge too far for me personally.

(22,308 posts)I have a "friend of a friend" who is both of Middle Eastern descent and a crazy right wing nut job. He converted to Catholicism ~7 years ago.
If a Muslim registry is created, I may sign him up for it. I know it is cruel but he supports this kind of crap. I think he deserves a taste of it.

(31,261 posts)I too would register as a Muslim, even though I have no intention to practice.

I do not see how this can possibly be constitutional ...?
Fuck them all.

(6,154 posts)I assure you it will be secret and will flag people based on some algorithm. Same as with the various no fly lists.

(855 posts)And I would go to the local mosque to learn the right answers to any questions that might come up so they don't catch me out. Actually, I would hope mosques would would advertise such lessons if and when the time comes. It'd be like conversion class except you don't actually convert.
Plus we could count up all the people who signed up for the classes and compare that to the number who attended the inauguration!
