Look, I am not trying to shill for Tulsi Gabbard, but it seems some here are trying to misrepresent her views. She opposes arming the rebels because she thinks they are comprised of Al Queda and other Muslim terrorist groups. I do not see how that makes her a GOP shill or a white supremacist shrill. From what I can see she is an anti-war/anti-interventionist Democrat. Maybe I am missing something. I do not follow her closely, but so far I do not see anything completely out of the norm.
On a less important note I have finally learned how to post tweets. Did Twitter change how tweets can be posted? Maybe I had just been doing it wrong before and was missing the simple way to post tweets. I think someone is about to be a tweet posting maniac.

But you knew that since I said that in my first post.

(55,894 posts)the company she kept going to Syria was a bunch of Nazi deplorables (see my post below).
With what we know about the nexus between Republicans, Russians and White Supremacists... I really wonder WHY she went to Syria to see Assad who is Putin's puppet at this point.

No, EarlG announced they've updated DU to allow for simple posting of tweets (and it does work a treat):

The Democratic congresswoman used affiliates of a violent, anti-Semitic political party to take tea with Assad.
Tulsi Gabbard, the self-styled progressive Hawaiian congresswoman makes no secret of her recent trip to Damascus to meet Bashar al-Assad. But, as an outspoken opponent of what she presents as Americas pro-terrorist foreign policy, Gabbard certainly accepted some strange companions on what her fellow lawmakers are calling a disgraceful reputation-laundering tour of a bloody dictatorship.
Gabbard, as her own office has disclosed, took her fact-finding trip with a delegation of two men who are affiliated with an anti-Semitic political party accused of using female suicide bombers; of beating up Western and Arab journalists; helping U.S.-designated terrorist organization Hezbollah and the U.S.-sanctioned Syrian regime wage war in the Levant.
And did we mention the partys ideology and flag take their inspiration from Nazism?

(55,894 posts)Gabbard won't disclose who's paying for secret trip to Syria
Rep. Tulsi Gabbards office wont say who is paying for the Hawaii Democrats controversial trip to Syria and Lebanon this week.
Gabbard spokeswoman Emily Latimer said the trip wasnt funded using taxpayer dollars and was approved by the House Ethics Committee but wouldnt provide further information when pressed by POLITICO. The lawmaker is currently on the trip, though it's not clear exactly when she'll be returning.
