Donald Trump is not ten feet tall and the legions of his deplorable acolytes are not either. An inordinate fear of him and them is not warranted. That doesn't mean we shouldn't be vigilant. Trump lost the popular vote by over 3,000,000 votes. There are more of us than them, a lot more...He won the Electoral College, a relic of the antebellum days by a paltry 80,000 votes. And this win could not have been accomplished without the collaboration of Vladimir Putin and James Comey.


I defer to nobody in my opposition to Deplorabilism. Deplorabilism is an ideology whose values are nativism, xenophobia, misogyny, homophobia, anti-semitism, racism. et ctera. These are not American values and they never will be. We stand for inclusion, pluralism, fair markets, and a humane, safe, and reasonable immigration policy. It is our ideals that unite us, not blood and soil.
