He's a US citizen. He's an excellent doctor, who I chose to be my primary care doctor because of that. That was 12 years ago, and he told me at that time that I was the first person to ever ask for him to be a PCP. We have a good doctor patient relationship and he has been extremely thoughtful with my care.

It's a pity that some people like him will not be allowed to study here. It's foolish, at best, and dangerous, at worst.

Because they need physicians and more and more young trainees are avoiding primary care because they don't want to deal with the headaches and the reimbursement is lower than other fields. That's the current state of medical education, for better or worse, and many primary care trainees on visas are willing to work in rural areas in order to gain citizenship. From my own experience, some of the best resident mentors in my training were here on visas. This is a vital need for many communities and Trump is flushing it down the toilet like it is meaningless.

He is an excellent Doctor, friendly and thorough. Since I moved, I will need to pick a new Primary Care Doctor, I am leaning toward another Doctor from India because there are a number practicing in the city that I live in. I am not against a Doctor that is not Indian, but that person has to be personable and not be a rightwinger (I live in a reddish area now and often see Trump stickers on cars, along with a few confederate decals on trucks and cars).

I really hope the fee schedule for Primary Care Doctors is changed, they are so critical to a working healthcare system.

I'm so fucking angry right now this has sent me over the top. Those residents matched into those programs. Those programs had to have vetted and interviewed these applicants and ranked them in order for the match to have taken place. This reeks of a right wing program director or ACGME head reacting to Trumps latest edict. It's disgusting and now these potential residents are left blowing in the wind.

We have a huge teaching hospital and a giant engineering program, and many of the students, doctors, etc., are from the Middle East.
