With every monstrous act by Trump I have less and less empathy for the Deplorables who empowered him

Imagine you are an Iranian green card holder who goes to visit his parents in Iran and is told he can't come back to be with his children in the United States. I will have empathy for him and his family.

They are Americans, in spite of being brainwashed. They are probably more victimized than the rest of us. They don't know it.

After WW ll the Allies made the Germans dig the graves of the Jews they killed and give those Jews whose bodies could be recovered decent burials? Should I have had empathy for them?

Why should I have empathy for someone just because he or she occupies the same piece of real state. I am tied to people by ideals and not soil. If Donald Trump was my father I would still say he was deplorable.

I only have empathy for nursing-home residents who couldn't change their TV channel and were scammed into voting for Trump. For those not in a nursing home, may they continue to die off faster than natural replenishment.

I would agree with you, but for one thing: Where are they now? They can see the injustice and the cruelty staring them stark in the face. Why aren't they saying anything? Even Vice President Cheney issued a statement in opposition, and good on him for doing so.

Where are the responsible Republican office-holders who run Congress? Where are the millions of Republican voters who were so up in arms just a month ago about executive orders and an imperial president? I'm straining my hearing listening for those voices that were so loud just a few weeks ago. Have they all suddenly gotten lockjaw? Have they all suddenly forgotten how to get in front of a camera?

Where are these Americans?

Trump was promising them Muslim ban, and they voted for him.
He was promising them the wall and they voted for him.

Which makes them cruel and unjust. I'll reserve empathy for innocent victims, rather than the aiders and abettors of injustice.

They've put this country into a ditch. It's up to us to make things right---by whatever means necessary.
