A British MP Says He Is Now Banned From The US Because He Was Born In Iraq

A British MP has said he is currently banned from traveling to the US because of Donald Trump’s executive order on visas and admitting refugees.

Nadhim Zahawi, the Conservative MP for Stratford-on-Avon, said he had been told that because he was born in Iraq, the order banning migrants and visitors from seven majority-Muslim countries applied to him as well.

Zahawai said it was a “sad, sad day to feel like a second class citizen. Sad day for the USA!”

“I’m a British citizen and so proud to have been welcomed to this country. Sad to hear I’ll be banned from the USA based on my country of birth,” he added.

His parents were from Pakistan, so perhaps he could claim Pakistani citizenship, but Pakistan isn't on the 'banned' list. Yet.

though Boris Johnson did have dual citizenship with the USA, since he was born in New York when his dad worked at the UN. He said he'd give it up (first because of a tax demand after a change in laws, then because he wanted to 'prove his loyalty'), but I can't find out if he definitely did. I can't find anything about Khan having Pakistani citizenship, though.

The level of security is intense. One man taken out of line before boarding to the U.S. CNN on at the airport before we got in the plane to the states. The heightened hysteria/chyrons made it look as though there was an attack in NY, not that the insane one disrupted travel plans for people and they were detained.
