I have a question for frequent overseas travelers regarding paperwork.

Last edited Sun Jan 29, 2017, 03:38 PM - Edit history (1)

Yesterday we landed in Miami from the Caribbean. First, we went through immigration, scanned our passports, and the machine dispensed slips of paper that we had to show to TSA before exiting to Customs. I don't remember what that paper was called. On the left-hand side of the paper, there was a vertical scale with the letters s, m, h and accompanying numbers and a black line. My number was 70, my husband's was 65 I think.

What do those numbers mean?

although as a middle-aged, white Christian, it kinda cracks me up that my "score" would be between medium and high. I wanted to take a picture of it, but it was posted "No cellphones/Cameras" so I didn't want to rock the boat.

He knew what the scale was, but could not tell me. He did, however, say that my thought about it being tied to my "threat level" and tied to social media was "probably not right."

There was a scale - "s" on the bottom, "m" in the middle, "h" at the top. My husband and I had the same letters, his scaled number was 65, mine was 70, and that's not our ages.
