Steven Bannon and Kellyanne Conway will not allow Trump to be impeached.

It's clear they want their jobs more than he does. They will do whatever is necessary to control errant republicans in the House to prevent a Bill of Impeachment from even being drafted.

These two nobodies trying to control lawmakers might actually help some of them turn on Trump. Congress isn't exactly an ego-free zone itself.

They may try to prevent Trump from being impeached, but they are outsiders with little political clout to prevent an impeachment. They will try to bully GOP congressman and senators, but if Trump pisses off enough of their constituents and donors, no amount of Trumpian bullying will prevent his impeachment.

that cannon or conway could do. It is a separate branch of government, and I agree with your assessment.

The Republicans are quislings. They won't stand up to a tyrant if his party is their party.

They knuckled under to his bullying during the primaries, that knuckled under to his bullying during the general election, they knuckled under to his bullying in the cabinet selection process. Of course they're going to get down on their knees when he's the actual president.. No matter what they say, they will never put country ahead of party

Trump is giving them a tax cut, that's all they really care about

remember RNC emails were hacked too. They probably have enough compramising material on critical members to block impeachment bill. Bannon is not stupid

This isn't a made-for-TV movie. I believe Trump will not last a year. Maybe not even 6 months. He may be given the opportunity of claiming he is 'stepping down' for health or some other amorphous reason but that will be impeachment by another name.

It would only take a very small number of Republicans to pull this off. Remember, Democrats get to vote too.
