Kellyanne Conway: ‘I Was Stopped Many Times After 9/11’ Though I Don’t ‘Resemble’ Terrorists

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/kellyanne-conway-airport-stop-immigration_us_588e1114e4b017637794f37f?

WASHINGTON ― Kellyanne Conway, top advisor to President Donald Trump, suggested on Sunday that she understands what it’s like for immigrants and refugees to be detained at U.S. airports because her own travels were slowed down after the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

“I was stopped many times ... after 9/11,” she said on “Fox News Sunday.” “I didn’t resemble, or share a name with, or be part of any kind of terrorist conspiracy, but this is what we do to keep a nation safe.”

Conway was defending Trump’s sweeping executive order on immigration, which halts refugee resettlement for 120 days, bans Syrian refugees from entering the U.S., and for 90 days blocks individuals from seven Muslim-majority countries: Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen. Scores of immigrants and refugees were detained at U.S. airports over the weekend as protesters around the country demanded for them to be let go.

Late Saturday night, a federal judge in Brooklyn, New York, temporarily blocked parts of Trump’s immigration ban, ruling that sending refugees back to their home countries could cause “irreparable harm.”

I feel we're living through pre-Nuremberg trial days, and we all know how that turned out. Spicer and Conjob need to be held accountable for their part in this coup.

I never get stopped ever. And I am whiter than Kelly Anne. The police have those kind of records. Let's prove this as a lie.

When I worked for TSA, hardly a day went by I didn't hear, "Do I look like a terrorist?" And they would often follow up with a recommendation to let RealAmericans breeze through and give the third degree to "them." People don't understand that profiling fails in a diverse, multi cultural society like ours.

When I flew to Colorado to visit my family, I got a tattoo from one of the local artists. His recommended method of healing was cleansing and Curel lotion. I bought a tube at the local Walgreen's. When I returned to Nevada, the Curel was confiscated from my luggage at the security checkpoint. The reason? The 6 oz. tube was over the allowed 2 or 3 ounce limit.

Since you worked for TSA, you could probably tell me the exact reason why.

But my point is that my interaction with the TSA was probably a hell of a lot closer to what Conway would describe as being "profiled" than anything she actually went through.

Bottled water is also confiscated. When you pass security, the waiting area has a couple of food stands, where everything sells for at least 200% if its fair market value. I was able to purchase another small bottle of water there that cost $3.00. Because I bought it there, I was allowed to take it on the plane with me.

My guess is that Conway's "profiling" experiences were similar to these, which means she's never been profiled.

Most people, or at least many people, feel they are being unfairly singled out or profiled when they get a pat down or have to give up a tube of toothpaste. In fact, TSA very rarely picks out passengers for "being suspicious." They have specially trained officers who look for behavioral clues, based on a system used by Israeli security personnel. Your tube of medication was over the 100 ml or 3.4 ounce limit.
