... but I'm worried whether I would be let back in to my adopted home if I went. I might actually have nothing to fear (the UK still isn't on the banned list) but if DJT's admin, without no evidence of any actual threat, can do this then what??

I think if you make it abundantly clear that you voted for Hillary you'll probably get a load of sympathy and the people who you are visiting with can join in with you in lamenting the fact that we have someone in the WH who makes George W Bush look like Mother Teresa.

Best I can do is roll my eyes at the outcome and remind people that a majority of the voters rejected Trump and we will suffer more than they will.

and are concerned that by that time there may be retaliatory bans at airports. So for the first time ever we bought trip insurance, for in case we have to cancel our non-refundable trip.

It's going to be embarrassing for sure. I am packing and will wear my pussyhat.

Plenty of mundane things force people to abandon trips they want to take.

Definitely take the pussyhat. I'm certain that in most parts of Europe you will receive plenty of sympathy for being in the anti-DJT majority.
