In defense of Trump, he told us he was going to do these things (wall, muslim ban etc).

and still some people risked other people's lives and voted for him, did not vote, or voted third party.

That is to me unconscionable.

Trump is just one man, but it took a fucking warped white nationalist village to make this happen.

If we are to ever prevent something like this again, we need to take overt racism far more seriously than we did this time round. We need to quit finding excuses and 'good reasons' why people did not vote for the person who could stop him. Nor did they vote for the Senators/House members who could stop him.

who were tricked or misled. He showed himself a racist and sickening misogynist and THAT IS WHO THEY VOTED FOR. When you peel back the layers, they are either racists who tolerated his misogyny, misogynists who tolerated his racism, or most likely, racist misogynists themselves.

instead of defending the violence/destruction perpetrated by the racists.

people should question their desire to say 'not all trump voters'

Those who voted for him mostly knew what he would do, and the core group is delighted with their guy. Of course, quite a few voters couldn't bother to inform themselves and were caught unaware. "What! They're repealing the ACA? I thought they would repeal Obamacare!" So we have a presidency aimed at satisfying the urges of the most primitive right wing segment of our population.

LITERALLY

Isn't that the chit-chat we were subjected to after he won the election and we were in full "what the hell just happened" dudgeon?

Some of us fought him every step of the way. Some of us are having an "oh shit, what the fuck did I do" life.
