I Think A Peaceful Military Takeover Is Coming....

The Repugs won't call for the impeachment of Trump because he'll take the Repugs down with him. To risky.

The Dems don't have the power to impeach Trump.

Seems to me that the military is the only alternative. A peaceful ousting of Trump and his minions and a declaration of a new election to take place on a certain date. This election would restore the government in a peaceful way and the military would turn it back to the newly elected administration.

I know this sounds crazy. It would cause a lot of disruption both in the day to day running of our country and no doubt disrupt the stock market and the economy. But isn't it better knowing that there will be a light at the end of the tunnel instead of waking up everyday not knowing what Trump and company will pull?

This is just a thought - but I think with the action taken by Trump to elevate Bannon - this is just the last straw.

US Army from 1982 - 1991, enlisted people have virtually no idea of current affairs. I was well-informed because I was a news junky and have always been a news junky but most enlisted people don't have time to follow the news or keep themselves aware of what is going on in the rest of the world!

There's the internet now and many soldiers stateside and in Afghanistan, Iraq and where-ever else, may have personal I-phones. But I guaran-phucking-tee you that these young soldiers and even the higher-ranking ones are getting most of their "news" from fake news sites and Rush Limbaugh's daily talk show... I'm pretty sure they still broadcast Rush's show on Armed Forces Radio & Television around the world and these soldiers think think are listening to "facts" not "commentary" - I doubt that, like most citizens, soldiers can't tell the difference between news and commentary anymore.

If the US Military gets involved in what's going on here, don't assume that the upper-ranks of the military is Anti-Trump! And don't assume that the lower-ranks won't just follow their orders without question...

It was the JAG corps that loudly spoke up against the Gitmo military tribunals. I was married to a 20-year USMC JAG who just put up his first facebook post stating that he has never been more ashamed of our leaders, saying that if the immigration ban isn't bigotry, then it's cowardice. For many reasons related to the current makeup of our armed forces, I disagree with you.

I have seen here and the news ( NOT FOX AND THAT TYPE ) that a large amount of our military voted for the dictator. I do hope I am wrong because I would really like to think when it comes down to it they are on "we the people's" side. I just have this feeling dictator is going to establish something resembling martial law ( except not legal ) and I truly wonder if our military is going to do what is right and say no. I realize there are those in the military who oppose him ( I know some ) but are there enough? ) I call what I see and compare it with the history of other dictators...I am really scared.

We are a nation of laws. He won the electoral vote. There are only two lawful mechanisms to remove him from office.

His vice president and cabinet - and his cronies in Congress are the only ones with the power to do anything.

Unfortunatey, what he is doing right now is what he had promised. Actually, he promised a complete and total shutdown of all muslims entering the US so I guess he aleady softened his stance, lol.

I expect massive ICE raids to start any day now, but he had promised this too. And cancel DACA within days/weeks (after Sessions is confirmed).

What he did not campaign on is that he is destroying all foundations of our democracy, trying to transition from liberal democracy to autoritarian oligarchy, that he is following the new global order which will benefit ONLY Russia, etc.

I guess we may have to wait until stock market crashes due to trade wars and isolationist policies for all people to wake up. Money talk louder than words, I guess.

the muslim registry is being actively developed by a company in Palo Alto. All muslims i the US will be required to register or face charges. Islam will be declared (via EO) "political ideology" and therefore exempt from religious protections. Buckle up!!

Trump and Bannon are the Visigoths, and they are busily sacking Rome. I don't take kindly to people telling me to calm down when shit like this is happening. The right to get fired up over crap like this, and say so, is one of those civil and human rights they're trying to take away.
