Monday night massacre - Tuesday reality check by Senators?

My hope is that he was overconfident, exercising his muscle too soon, and that those inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt before last Friday - and before tonight's firings - will deliver a little reality check tomorrow when several of his nominees are set for confirmation votes.

Are mainly republicans, and they have been putting party unity ahead of the welfare of the country for a long time now.

It is not that these people really like Trump, they never did. Many of them are as surprised as we are that somehow the Republican establishment managed to crown Trump. However, as much is the Paul Ryan's me he Trump, they're going to hold on for promises, like a Supreme Court justice that makes Anthony Scalia look like Michael Moore, like the final deathknell the Social Security and Medicare. The sad thing about 2016 is that both parties, though much more so the GOP, kept holding onto something in the hopes that if they could just get over the finish line then they could deliver on promises that they had been breaking for decades. At this point, Trump is so Teflon that she could be caught selling California to the Russians and his gang of trolls would be hearing social media saying why this is a good thing.

The only hope we have of making the GOP want to distance themselves from Trump is if as of right now, hell as of yesterday there is a serious awareness of the midterm elections. If Hillary really wants to help, she should be getting out on PSA saying " avenge 2016 in 2018!" The midterms are historically when the party that won the White House gets a slap in the face from the American public saying "we have a leash on you." Now we know that Steve Bannon and his goons are going to do their best to make sure that our right to vote in 2018 is weak, and that our awareness of votes in 2018 is now, this is where sites like Democratic underground can earn their keep by making sure that the flame that starts in protest today keeps being stoked. Let me say this again, this is not going to be a Sprint, is going to be a marathon, will we are going to have to look at several years of having to deal with a lot of crap that we were not used to dealing with, and just want to go ahead and take a rest, that is when we will have to get up and start moving.

I think there is enough rumbling about 2018 already (as evidenced by the Philadelphia audio), and I see signs that the Senators realize Trump is spinning out of control - and that if they don't do somethign soon they will have lost their opportunity.

But I was hopeful in 1973, as well.
