Boente says he will defend travel ban executive order in court

http://thehill.com/homenews/administration/317018-trump-fires-acting-ag-for-refusing-to-defend-travel-ban

Asked if he would defend the order in court, Boente told The Washington Post, “Yes, I will.”

“Our career department employees were defending the order in court, and that’s what I expect they will do tomorrow, appropriately and properly.”

That's what he supposed to defend... not Trump's hateful decrees.

He could have appointed someone less acceptable than Sessions. Poisoning the well. And forcing the confirmation. Now he has created a situation where Boente may be the AG for 4 years. I suppose that this is the executive order of appointments.

"liberal Virginia Senators Mark Warner and Tim Kaine said about Boente when they recommended to President Obama that he be named U.S. Attorney for the EDVA:

Dana’s long-time service has provided him with extensive experience in national security matters, public corruption, and securities and financial fraud. In New Orleans, he successfully led the U.S. Attorney’s Office through an important time of transition.

In addition, as acting U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, Dana has shown himself to be a capable manager of a fast-paced and dynamic office of well over 100 prosecutors,” the Senators wrote."

obey Obama's WH, or follow the law. At the time, Yates was being confirmed for deputy AG in the spring of 2015.
