There will either be 3 countries - Atlantic States of America, Pacific States of America and Jesusland in between; or 2 countries - the United States of America with a mangled but contiguous border from coast to coast, and a Trumpistan with walls all around it and a dystopian hell hole eternally blaming the United States for their plight. Either way, I am actively looking into ways to move my family to California before the state is flooded with refugees from the central states and sane people who flee the south.
This nation is fractured beyond repair because the GOP has made it 100% clear that they do not care to compromise on anything and it is their way or no wat; and they have made crystal clear that they do not traffic in truth as a currency. That kind of adversarial state of mind is impossible to negotiate with or govern with...as we have seen for decades already. And anyone dedicated to lying and prevarication instead of reasoned debate of the facts is likewise an unfit adversary. They are either abandoned to their own devices and allowed to starve, or they are met on a field of battle and killed. You cannot find common ground when you are in reality and the opponent is in fantasy. There is no common language at that point, and we have reached it with the advent of "alternative facts".
Blow it up and start over...but remember, this time, when we re-write and re-adopt a constitution "ALL" means "ALL" and is independent of skin color, sexual orientation, age, creed or lack of creed and that to be a citizen is to traffic in truth and fact and to call out those that will not do the same...
