Let's talk about the Republicans...

...they've mostly been "ghosting" and hiding out since election day. With all the snowflakes in that Party, it must be about a foot deep on the House floor?

They are scared shitless. You will not find one profile in courage amongst the lot of them. They stand silently by as their mentally-ill leader proceeds to destroy everything our country has ever stood for and they do nothing. They do not even whisper.

They understand that all it takes is one little Tweet back to their home district and they could be out of business in the next election. So they choose to remain silent.

Even with their huge majority in the House, they are powerless to do anything, for fear of their all-powerful leader, Trump.

They are willing to cover and to lie for his mistakes, which have been many in the first ten days. He doesn't inform them of anything and they don't seem to care? They are nothing more than empty suits taking up space in our Capitol. They are less than worthless.

Cowering to their leader much like a small toddler clings to momma. If just one of them would stand up and push back maybe others would grow a back bone and fight as well. Wishful thinking I guess...

The "afraid of Trumpy's tweets" meme is accurate, visually cogent, and has the potential of growing legs. It was mentioned on one of last night's news shows.

Republicans are cowards at Trumpy's feet.

And Trumpy is a coward and scared shitless himself because he's afraid of showing his TAX RETURNS.

They make a great team: the scared shitless leading the scared shitless, all the while puffing out their chests and bragging about their bravery. That's the state of US politics.

Power, how to get it and how to keep it. It's all they know or care about. The constitution? The country? Nope. 2018 is our only hope to stop this madness.

the entire lot of them. They can't do anything without having somebody to blame for it. Obama is gone and they can't blame the shit they are about to do on him. The Democrats aren't going to help them this time. So what's left except to sit on their hands and let Trump implode.

They know their shit games have come to a head. They've stripped this country almost to it's bare bones before the Obama administration. They didn't help Obama push forwards with bringing us back so while the stock market went up real growth was slow. The modern Republican gets nothing positive done because they simply don't know how. The only thing they can do is hide, object and stir up shit. It's why Trump was able to steal their party away from them.

Because the modern Republican politician is so craven and useless and power mad. They won't step in against what Trump is doing. They don't want to piss off a base that they themselves created with nearly 60 years of dog whistle bullshit. So now the plan is to waffle and waffle and waffle until they can sucker some stupid Red State or Red Dog Democrats into siding with them. When it fails they will point and cry "well they thought it was a good idea tooooooooooo". This is how they are going to deal with repealing the ACA.

They might keep a thing or two so they can get a Democratic patsy on board for when the whole thing blows up in their, and more importantly our, faces. With Trump I figure they won't move on him unless he tries to nuke somebody or they have somebody they can blame this on. I feel like they would let this thing drag out pass the elections next year so that the Democratic party can take the blame for impeaching Trump. That way they can avoid further alienating that base that went out and voted form Trump. By then the damage will be done and the Republican establishment will be cravenly complicit in letting the country burn to recapture that base.

Bottom line is that the Republican party is dead and they know it. The name of the game is to stall as long as they can, to loot as much as they can while Trump provides cover. The Republican party survives only as long is to have somebody else to blame for this fucking debacle. The Dems are doing the right thing by just not showing up. I'm not saying let everything burn down, but when they want to pass ridiculous bullshit let them do it alone. They have the power to do so; so go ahead and do it, own it.
