Question of Deportation Issues
I was born in the Netherlands, in a Dutch hospital. I have a Dutch birth certificate. To the best of my knowledge though I was born to US parents as my father was in the military. Both are now passed away.
Where is gets confusing is I have Naturalization paper issued by the State Dept 4 years after I was born (1974).
Because of that and a couple other factors I have always been unsure of my parentage or nationality at birth.
I will also add that I have lost the Naturalization paper and State has been unable to locate the record (I've tried for a couple years now)
I do have a US passport but it expires in 2 months (obtained with Naturalization paper before it was lost)
I will also admit, given republican45's anti-immigrant hate mongering, I have been taunting him on Twitter for weeks about deporting me.
I have to admit, knowing that even US citizens, born here, have been deported, I feel I would have a hard time proving my citizenship if pressed.
Not that I would resist all that hard being deported to the Netherlands but on the same token, automatic Dutch citizenship requires you being able to prove you were born to at least one Dutch parent and I cannot do that either.

Mine was in 1973. 
I had to reach back out when I obtained my citizenship in Italy via marriage. They wanted a fresh copy of my consulate papers. Give them a call if you want. I deal with S.O.S. and Treasury in my work a great deal - Friday afternoons you might be able to get someone to speak to you and give you any best tips and practices to move it forward. My last set came back to me in about 3 weeks.
Shhh - they kind of 'move' for children of the military - regardless of how old we are. We didn't have a choice because of where our dad served you know?
