Gallup: Trump approval falls to 38%

Disapproval rises to 56%.

http://www.gallup.com/poll/201617/gallup-daily-trump-job-approval.aspx

This is a three-day rolling average, so the Flynn resignation is only beginning to have its effect, and his shitshow press conference yesterday isn't considered. These numbers are only going to get worse.

1. Will bet he drops five points when the press conference is figured in.

Pathetic. Hope he sinks to the 20's.

3. What happens I wonder when he sends 100,000 Natl Guard troops

out to round up brown people?

We will really find out who we are as a nation when we see those numbers.

4. Dang! That's an 18-point spread between Approval/Disapproval.

That's 38 from 56 percent.

Makes me fearful he'll gin up some kind of war or other national emergency, in hopes of raising his numbers. After all, 9/11 and the subsequent wars worked wonders for Dubya for several years!

6. Excellent point. People forget how popular Bush was for 2 plus years. It wasn't until 2004 that

his numbers finally started dipping.

Looking back I think the economy was a bigger issue in that race than anyone realized. It was seen as a foreign policy election at the time. People still supported the Iraq War at that point. But I think that a lot of people were turning on Bush's economic policies even back then. Amazingly, when the election was over Bush claimed a mandate to privatize Social Security.

11. Based on the impact of economic factors, I wonder about rising gas prices...

...and how that could dampen the spirits of a good many loyal #45 supporters.

Trump fans are expecting low prices and high wages from their leader, and if he can't even keep down the cost of filling their gas tank, they just may become a tad bit disenchanted.

If that happens, his sinking approval numbers will become bottomless, and then we really do need to fear for a "unifying" external threat to arise on cue.

8. I'll repost here what I wrote in the other thread about Trump's new rating in Gallup's tracking poll

Dropping below 40 is bad for Trump but what is even worse is the solidifying of his numbers at about 40 percent. In other words, the big effect of Flynn is that it will be much harder to get the numbers back up again than it was before.

And, of course, all of this happened before yesterday's bizarre news conference. He came off like a nut job and a racist.

The media has suggested that it will play well to much of his base, and perhaps a little beyond. It reminded me of Fred Thompson, in the 2008 GOP primary debates, delivering smack down lines to the moderator. The pundits insisted he had a good debate every time, and yet his numbers kept dropping.

I don't think voters are going to believe that Trump is the victim of political correctness when people show him asking a black journalist to set up a meeting with the CBC for him and implying that this is ridiculous.

9. RW Rasmussen keeps giving him more approval points

that the percentage he was elected by. Total BS,the other day it was almost TEN percent more approve of him now than voted for him.
