Aren't these the people who voted for Trump and the Republican promise to repeal and replace the ACA? They got who they wanted as president and will be getting what they wanted in health care policy. Why are they so angry?
The more I see it, the more I wonder exactly how Trump won.

(4,873 posts)Sure, there are more Dems present, and speaking out as they should be. Imo, I believe that will continue to grow. I have watched a number of question and answer times in the recent town halls, and I DO see more republicans demanding truth to powers. They were duped and now they know it. I also believe that will continue to grow.
The bigger question in my mind is will it grow fast enough, in time to really be able to do something about it..

(13,749 posts)I'd love to think so. I'm watching and waiting to find Republicans who are waking up. There's much more at stake than differences of opinion about the role of government.

(14,893 posts)and several here blasted the people in the video, saying they got what they voted for and accusing them of being hypocrites who belatedly found out their own healthcare was in jeopardy. However, one of these people was subsequently interviewed and said she voted for Sanders in the primary and Clinton in November and that although she had a good group health plan through her teaching job, she was speaking out on behalf of those in need. It's what we Democrats do. I will be protesting Marsha Blackburn's town hall today, and I am pretty sure that most of us there will be disappointed Democrats who want to make sure our voices and opinions are registered publicly and forcefully. Please don't forget that in every "red" area of the country, there are committed progressive voices working like hell against the status quo.

I've seen too many reports of Trump voters who have belately learned what they really voted for, and now have voter's remorse. I find it more than believable that at least some of those showing up at the Republican town halls voted for Trump and the Republican present. Don't forget all those signs back a few years reading "Keep your government hands off my Medicare!" A lot of voters are very low information, alas.
I have been a blue voter in a red state, and now I'm a blue voter in a blue state, which is vastly better.

They go to their doctor, and their Obamacare is still fully in effect. Do you know how disappointing it is when you have a preexisting condition and it's STILL being covered by Obamacare? When your whole white, privileged life is about complaining about what someone took away from you, it's difficult to maintain the hatred when something like your Obamacare hasn't been taken away.
And what about all them undocumented immigrants? If Trump had moved faster, they'd all be gone already, and the price of lettuce would have quadrupled. The fact that the price of produce hasn't spiked to Depression-era prices is just another bitter reminder that all them "illegals" are still here. How can the rubes feel good about things when their pocketbooks are telling them nothing is changing?
