It's never too late to start.

I just got a phone call from a woman who knocked out my headlight while she was parallel parking back in early November. Like me, she is in her 60's.

The day of the fender bender, I was wearing Hillary gear, and she told me that she was a supporter as well, but was keeping it relatively quiet due to the verbal abuse she had received at work in our very red area of a very blue state. (She worked at a hair salon, so one can only imagine what a pile on it must have been, given the number of people who had the opportunity to hurl invective.)

The next day, she mailed me a check for the damage and enclosed a note saying she hoped we would succeed on election day.

Out of the blue, she called me this morning. "I know you were involved and hope you can tell me how to volunteer. I'm haunted by what happened. I want to do something to make sure it never happens again."

MADE MY DAY!

Recently I joined a local indivisible.org group, one of many in my area, busy getting active in the resistance. Strength in numbers!
