3. Nobody "Calls Russia"

You call someone there OR someone there calls you. Your subordinates can do the same for you. And aside from calling, one can travel there, stay in a hotel most likely under 24/7 surveillance, and converse directly with said Russians. There is no lack of clever ways with which to conceal a lie by making a seemingly innocuous truthful statement.
