A Call To Action begins tomorrow and will continue

through the 40 days of Lent. It's sponsored by the Catholic social justice group NETWORK (aka "Nuns On A Bus&quot .

We'll be calling Catholic Republican legislators to remind them to actually practice what they claim to believe by working to protect the poor and the marginalized, by being responsible stewards of the environment, and by bridging (rather than creating) divisions.

While this action is being sponsored by a Catholic group, it focuses solely on social justice issues consistent with Democratic and progressive principles.

2. I work with nuns. Everyone of them is a Democrat.

5. My aunt was a nun with a Harvard business education. She put together

a big organization with rehab programs, and childcare programs, job training programs, programs for disabled kids, and tons of other things. She's part of how I grew up a Democrat in a Republican house.

We disagreed on religion, but she was the bomb. I'm proud to be related to her.
