FUCK HIM!!! Goddamn. How fucking STUPID do people have to fucking be?
HOW, just, HOW stupid? How fucking stupid?? How could ANYBODY believe that a WORD that comes out of Pussy Grabber's greasy, fetid, pie hole could be ANYTHING but a goddamned con job?
And not even a good con job. A syrupy feel-good, bullshit sentiment he read off a teleprompter and everybody just coos that he didn't shit his pants.
FUCK VAN JONES.

(4,149 posts)I forgot to add that the POTUS,
self-described, bona fide Pussy Grabber par excellence,
is also a bigoted, hateful, homophobic xenophobe who
should be tried for treason. But we will at least see this sack of shit go down in flames.
I can't wait.

(4,149 posts)Pussy Grabber's shit tonight. . .
In Van Jones' words, Pussy Grabber "became the President of the United States Tonight."
Fuck that.

Trump is scum and his supporters are fools.
So what if he told a bunch more lies?
What, we are supposed to believe a word he says Van?
Are you that stupid.

(365 posts)And the long extension of the applause was horrifying. What a tool! Van Jones got sucked in...thought he was smarter than that. Very disappointed in him.

(1,278 posts)I am as Anti-Trump as most anyone here, but I'm pro Van Jones.
Having said this, what I think he is saying is that a performance like that is enough to win the presidency. He is not saying it should, that he is about the prospects. After all, if logic and reason were truly employed, Bernie Sanders or Joe Biden would be president.
DU sees through this, most Americans see through this, but his policies are continuing and the best we can do now is to slow it down since they have all of the legislative powers. However, in time and hopefully soon, the jig will be up, and his base will turn on him. That leaves President Pence, which is not a great solution either.
Prediction: Trump will be gone sometime late this year.

(13,776 posts)I didn't watch the whole speech, but since he was reading from a teleprompter i wasn't surprised that Trump did way better than past performances would have predicted. I was hoping that he would gibber, but he didn't. I suspect that Van Jones was just giving credit where credit is due, and hasn't suddenly become converted by a single speech into a fan.

(1,278 posts)In the shallow low bar that is set for Trump and public speaking, he crossed over it, even if it requires making hay out of a situation he created for non-military reasons.
OT: I watched some of the reactions that some of the invited had, and maybe you can't read facial expressions, but it sure looked like none of them wanted to be there, and mostly see through his BS. ICBW.
FLOTUS also looked the part of going through the motions. She signed up for it, and I'm sure was told what would happen in her life should her husband win. I have a hard time believing she wasn't prepared for this.

(13,615 posts)Let's say that Trump by some bit of luck does one or two good things; sometimes people stumble into doing something. He still does not deserve praise, because , as Van should know more than anyone, it is the overall package that is being sold, and the empowerment of people with bad intent needs to be fought. If we start fawning over the man because he manages to not spend an hour makign an ass of himself, we shoot ourselves in the foot.
Considering the truly harsh standards he held Obama to, he should know better than to allow Trump a pass because he managed to avoid saying something stupid for a night, and certainly not allow Trump to use the dead widow as a shield.
It is one thing for some desperate unemployed person from Western Pennsylvania to swallow a Trump lie, and even they do not get a pass, Van Jones gets far less of one, as in NONE. If this, especially after Obama, is the low bar for becoming the "president", then frankly this is no longer a country worth the effort.
