DEMS are wounded. How we turn that around. Spoiler: It's not money.

this is John Nichols of the Nation, one of our best Wisconsin guys. A very thoughtful and spot on article about our party. Our wounded party. We only control 5 states. DEMS are not united and we see proof of that every day right here on DU. HOW WE TURN THAT AROUND. Spoiler: It 's not Money.

And from the article:

Ellison’s backers had to reckon with a creepy (though easily rebutted) attempt to portray the congressman, who is Muslim, as anti-Semitic. But his defeat had a lot more to do with the refusal of insider Democrats to recognize that their party must get out of Washington (with a genuine 50-state strategy); break the bonds of big money (with small-donor funding); link itself with grassroots activist groups; and abandon the “Third Way” compromises that have turned too many Democrats into errand runners for Wall Street.

In my view, far too many Democrats at all levels are obsessed with the money competition. But the only way that Democrats can get more money from the 1% who dominate national politics is to become more like the GOP. And that is a prescription for 2 corporate parties.

Democrats must, in my view, be the Party of workers. 90% plus of Americans are workers, not capitalists.

If we want to move this Nation Forward,we Dems must stop pointing fingers at each and every faction that makes up our Party. Take a look at the Headlines,we have a Group of Billionaires hell bent on destroying our Nation for their gain. If that is not enough to make you stand up for and promote Democratic Values, then you deserve what happens. Until Citizens United goes away,we will need wealthy philanthropic Democrats to help with the heavy money lifting. Yes,Bernie was able to pull off what he did, but, did that money make it down to the bottom of the Tickets, did not see it locally.
