Energy Star efficiency program on the chopping block

This program has saved taxpayers hundreds of billions of dollars. The Trump team wants to cut it.
The Energy Star efficiency program costs less than .001 percent of the Department of Defense budget.

As the federal government braces for the administration’s so-called “skinny budget,” expected late next week, rumors of what, exactly, will be cut keep circulating. Among the programs reported to be on the Trump administration’s chopping block: the popular, cheap, effective Energy Star consumer labeling program from the Energy Department and the Environmental Protection Agency.

1. One of the first things I look for when buying an appliance

One thing about it I pretty much have bought all new appliances these last couple years in anticipation of my wife's retirement in a year and a half

4. It's good to have something for your wives to do when they retire!

I just wouldn't say it out loud to my wife!

5. LOL

I'm talking about everything from heat to cool, hot to cold, fresh to spoiled, clean to dirty, machine to hand wash, not just in the kitchen

8. They love deficits and waste...

...and out of the other sides of their mouths, they cry poverty.

9. 1. Many state procurement policies require Energy Star 2. Are manufacturers...

suddenly going to have to adapt their production lines?

This makes no sense at all other than Trump using his all powerful negotiating skills to ask for an extreme only to settle later. Look at the drastic funding cuts for enviro programs in the Great Lakes and Chesapeake Bay - there's no way those can really happen.
