I don't see where Republicans can go with Healthcare

Has Obama checkmated them? Universal HC is the only thing that might save them but we know they won't go that direction. Are they just going to ram something unpopular through and take a hit? Scream that Obamacare is doomed so they had to fuck people over? Or just keep kicking the can down the road and say they couldn't come together on anything.

There are so many lies about Obamacare, and there are so many misconceptions. You PAY for Obamacare, and you can pick your plan. Most plans allow you to choose your own doctors, even specialists, without referrals, if they are in network, just like private insurance, government or group. You can get catastrophic coverage or plans that do not allow you as many choices, for cheap, just like you can with any insurance company. Premiums went up under Obamacare, but not nearly as much as they did in the private sector.

Like ALL programs, there were a few bugs to resolve. It was comparatively great to what we had before. I know, I was fortunate enough to get it after my premiums went to $1200, then as I was getting Obamacare, they went to $1600. BCBS sat down with me. They showed me that they offered the same plans for Obamacare as they did to groups or individuals. The PRICES varied. Mine was a bit more than half the cost of my old group, so $700. With subsidies, it came down to $400/ mo and the copays were somewhat lower. I still had to pay the 20%. Not to sound trumpish, but it was Great, in spite of the Repubs obstructing it and undermining it in full force. That's all they know how to do...destroy.

The thing that really gets me is they campaigned like they were fixing Healthcare for the people on Obamacare!
If you don't like it, get a private company and pay more for less! That is pretty much the only choice you will have now. The truth is most people on Obamacare want to keep it. It is the people who don't have Obamacare, and get some other type of government subsidies to their insurance (Congress, and many others who want to stop Obamacare).

Ramming through garbage bill after garbage bill will be the thing that overpowers gerrymandering.
But, it would be in line with Trump's historical performance to support such trash.

by placing such popular and right things such as no lifetime limits and pre-existing condition coverage into the ACA. These good things are very expensive, so the Repubs would have to get rid of them or blow a huge hole in the budget.

Some GOP reps think most angry people at the town halls are Democrats, and GOP/trump's base really wants Obamacare repealed. However, some GOP reps are probably worried that their base has been turning out and actually didn't realize that the ACA is Obamacare and do not want to lose their coverage, so now the reps are fearful of repealing it and losing in the next election. Then there are others who think the citizens just need to take their medicine and will have to fend for themselves, and they don't give a rat's ass about the plight of their own constituents.

Then move along to gut Medicaid and Medicare and SS and still get reelected. Feeling rather hopeless.

to all those damn leftists, and the laundry list of other human groups they hate, but none of that punitive Orwellian villainy will actually apply to them. Trump said so... and Freedoms...

Might let ACA go awhile, and then string everyone along for for months, leaving sick, etc., to live in fear, even insurers will be afraid to commit to anything. If the stars were to align, they might stumble into something not much more in need of tweaks than ACA.
