“The press is making Obamacare look so good all of the sudden,” Trump said at a health care listening session on Monday. “I’m watching the news. It looks so good. They are showing these reports, this one gets so much and this one gets so much.”

“First of all, it covers very few people,” he continued. “Because Obama’s gone, you know, things are going to be very bad this year for the people with Obamacare. They’re going to have tremendous increases.”

Trump argued that “whether we [repeal] it or not, it will be imploded off the map.”

“The press is making it look so wonderful so that if we end it, everyone’s going to say, ‘Oh, remember how great Obamacare used to be, remember how wonderful it used to be, it was so great,'” the president complained. “It’s a little bit like President Obama, when he left people liked him. When he was here people didn’t like him so much.”

1. In a way I sort of agree with him

I always felt like the Media spent most of Obama's Presidency tearing him down and giving his opponents more print and airtime to bash him, at least until he was getting ready to leave office. The Media also seemed to spend a lot of time being critical of and picking apart ACA and emphasizing its problems, particularly whenever it was close to election time. Now that we have lost President Obama and very clearly "traded down" with the WH's current occupant, and may be losing ACA, I think that some people- Media included- are realizing that we actually had it pretty good under President Obama (and would've been better off with Hillary in the WH- though I'm pretty sure the Media would be picking her apart as well and giving more coverage to Republican attacks on her).

6. Healthcare is the perfect issue to demonize

Very few understand it enough to do/understand additional research so they just listen to talking points about death panels and assume it's written somewhere in that 1000 page monster "Harry Potter and the Spell of Giving Everyone Affordable Healthcare".

Also Obama was an easy president to criticize because you never felt like blind devotion was a necessity to his ability to govern.

I think that criticizing President Obama- or pretty much any Democrat is easy- because the MSM knows that they can't dare risk looking.......gasp......"liberal". Their criticism of Democrats and Democratic Presidents or anything with a whiff of "liberal" or left-wing is reflexive at this point. And you can be the most moderate/conservative Democrat that exists anywhere and you're still going to be tarred with the "stain" of liberalism because you're not a Republican.

Republicans would rather take a wrecking ball to something they don't like- and threaten a lot of people- because of one or two fairly minor issues with it instead of just trying to fix those issues. There's a reason that Thomas Franks once called them "The Wrecking Crew".

4. He's making the argument for himself that he's shitty and incompetent

Translations:
"Now that Obama's gone, the government is falling apart" -Obama was very competent

"It will sink no matter what I do" -I guess I can't fix everything with good "deals", if I were a smarter man like Obama, maybe I'd stand a chance.

"It's like how when Obama left they realized how in retrospect he was far better than the alternatives" -I suck and people are waking from their election year stupor and realizing that Obama never had magic powers but he was able to keep the country better together than I could ever hope to.

now that he's forced to see what the remainder of humanity think, the reality of Democratic programs, and that none of these things match up to what is depicted in hate news...he can't accept it.

He is such a horrible president and is only going to get worse because reality doesn't register with him.
