I've never heard it called a benefit. How's that a benefit? To whom?

5. Of course he would try to get rid of it...

As part of his "for the wealthy" tax reform! But what's new about that?
I've been an accountant for 30+ years! Talk to me!

6. wait ... wait... AMT benefit, ... him... meaning its him who benefits from the policy....taking back

... the edit

Also, we need hard evidence of the assholes being assholes .. before it was mostly conjecture... at least here we can see that without AMT, which Benedict Donald wants to get rid of, would benefit HIM

8. It's not called a benefit....in fact, it's the opposite

It's calculating taxes if you're over a certain threshold by reversing certain deductions , and using the AMT table which make folks pay more. It's not a revelation that he would want to do away with that.

11. Getting rid of it would benefit anyone

With larger income than the threshold, which is relatively low! Again, that's not a revelation of any great note! It's certainly not going to bring him close to down in any shape or form!

12. Good we agree on that, a rich asshole outwardly saying he wants to benefit himself via tax .

... proposles he's proffering and having proof of how that would benefit him is a good thing

13. But we already know he's an asshole...

As that's been the case! We already know that everything he does is to benefit him directly… After all his daughter was selling her jewelry line on the White House website, for goodness sakes...

The real question the media should be asking, is the title of my Op. Short of that, there is nothing else to ponder about...IMO!

...THIS time is the time they'll get that nasty Trump. Conservatives went through it the eight years previously, albeit with alternate news sites.

Many altnews sites make millions that way; it was only a matter of time before the MSM, needing to compete with the online altnews, would do the same. They just picked a more reliable audience (as conservatives, cut out of the mainstream news for the most part for eight years, abandoned them entirely).

DU blowing up in over-exuberance is a bit premature. The reaction is tantamount to a crowd offering a standing ovation to an Olympic champion high jumper clearing the 3-foot bar.

I realize many people are frothing at the bit for SCROTUS's tax revelations. I'm curious too, and perplexed that so many idiots voted for this asshole without seeing his tax returns--not to mention everything else he did to disqualify himself. The entire bizarre situation speaks to the terrible weakness and ineptitude of our candidate, campaign, party strategy and message...but that's not the point here.

Before spiraling into a frenzy, crashing websites and whatnot, it might be prudent to show some restraint. We need FULL returns, showing sources of income and expenditures. And we need more recent returns.

Come on people. Knee-jerk reactions like this reveal desperation and weakness.
