Pressure is building for Trump to apologize for wiretap claim - Will he do it?

This story just keeps growing and the pressure is mounting for Trump to apologize for his smears against Obama. Sean Spicer made it an international incident. Now senior GOPer, Tom Cole, has said Trump needs to apologize.

Have you ever heard Trump apologize for anything? It will be the first time that the liar-in-chief has to say sorry for telling lies.

From Trump's point of view, this would be utter humiliation. To apologize to Obama, who is obviously superior in every way (smarter, more liked, better hair, etc). How small the inadequate, insecure little Trump would feel. Trump would see this as a show of weakness. Personally, I can't see it happening, but how will it play out?

Trump thinks he doesn't need to apologize for a couple of weeks because he will have evidence then. What diversion could he be planning before then?

This is what he did with the Obama/birth lie. He'll do the same with the Obama surveillance lie.

on the birther lie because he wasn't president. From all directions, there is pressure for him to apologize. Anything short of a proper apology won't wash with the media. In fact, the situation will be worse for him.

That's what he said when he was called out on his easily disprovable claim that his electoral college margin was the largest since Reagan.

His excuse is always "That's what people told me," or "I saw it reported somewhere." "That's the information I was given." It's never his fault for not verifying the (mis)information.

After years of questioning Obama's birth, he ends it with,

"President Barack Obama was born in the United States," end of story

That is exactly how he will end this garbage.

that his allegations were baseless. That strikes to the heart of his credibility. The media will take that and run with it. He will need to give a full apology this time.

misunderstood...the failing NYTimes, with a fuckoff deadpan, I'm sorry I said that, in the middle of a setntence about something else. Then, he will say, can we get away from these distractions that the Dems are creating to throw us off course. He won't do it at legit press conference where the media can flush it out. He's pretty much snuffed that freedom of the press

Getting dangerous as he has to come up w new things and up the ante...w N Korea flarring up, he could make a big splash. Hopefully, he is saving that for the 25th Amend or impeachment, if there are rumblings. Nah, he's too impusive to plan that far ahead.

His latest tweet about North Korea makes me think otherwise.

What is history going to record on this period? It is like the late stages of Nixon or Hitler being broadcast to the world. We are only two months in.
