Given what's coming out of the Comey hearing

Given what's coming out of the Comey hearing, shouldn't we be exercising extreme caution?

When the head of state is under a growing dark cloud of suspicion, his appointees are also under that cloud. Can we request that confirmation hearings be suspended?

1. Recommended.

As enjoyable as this hearing is, you are correct. There is a fuck of a lot at stake here.

4. We can request all we want.

Nothing will come of it.

Administration of government does not cease when it's 'head' is under a cloud.

7. however, there is no constitutional obligation for the senate to confirm any nominee.

the mcturtle rule.

you're right in that republicans will not pass up the opportunity to try to get one of their own extremists on the supreme court, but democrats can certainly use the investigation and cloud of presidential illegitimacy to filibuster gorsuch entirely.

12. The GOP controls confirmation hearings

along with everything else, but you can certainly contact the heads of committees to let them know your concerns.

16. certainly no supreme court nominee should be put forth.

same excuse as the gropers used on President Obama......the Con is in his last year of office, so shouldn't get to nominate anyone......
