Ok..I know it's TMZ..but they report there's video of the SS laptop thief

http://www.tmz.com/2017/03/20/mystery-thief-secret-service-laptop/

The thief who swiped a Secret Service agent’s laptop targeted the agent in question and knew exactly what he was after ... law enforcement sources tell TMZ.

Our sources say the thief -- whom they say is a man -- was caught on surveillance video pulling up to the agent's driveway in an Uber at around 3 AM Thursday.

The video shows the man make a beeline for the agent's car, removing a backpack with the computer inside and then walking off. As we reported, the hard drive contained Trump Tower floor plans and evacuation protocols, but the agency insists there was no classified info inside.

--------------
Hadn't read elsewhere that there was a video of the theft.

How the hell does someone leave that stuff in their car overnight and why does this sound more like a 'I'll go ahead and leave it in the car for you" deal?

If I'll go ahead and leave it in the car for you, then we have a criminal matter. And while I want 45/140 gone as much or more than anyone, but this is NOT okay.

If it was incompetence, how would the thief have known to tell the uber driver to go to that specific residential driveway at 3:00 a.m. so he could hop out of the uber, open that specific car, grab that particular laptop and hop back in the Uber?

It's got to be collusion afaic. But it's dead certain that uber has already provided the name, address and phone number, and credit card info to investigators, so they'll catch him if he's not already in custody. Who the eff rides an uber to a heist?
