Elizabeth and Hillary: This is what leadership sounds like.

Both women spoke at events this week. Excerpts and video clips at the links.

"Elizabeth Warren to the resistance: 'Fight like a girl'
At a rally in Massachusetts, Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) told a short, sweet story of a little girl and her hand-lettered sign. It will fill every heart in the resistance with hope."

"Hillary Clinton: Advancing rights of women and girls is 'the great unfinished business of the 21st century'
Hillary Clinton has devoted her life and energy toward the cause of equal rights and justice for women and girls around the world. In a wise and thoughtful address to Georgetown University, at a ceremony bestowing awards named in her honor, she showed that she is as dedicated to this cause today as she has ever been"

2. Listening to Hillary

it breaks my heart that she is not the one in the WH instead of the monster we have now.
And the monster is so illegitimate.

3. We would be having a very different first 100 days if HRC were 45.

Knowing what I know about her, I have the feeling that not being able to get down to work bothers her much more than losing the office.

4. Not to mention the undoing of years of work!

He and his treasonous party are all about the destruction.

5. I would be thrilled if Elizabeth Warren were to run. Hillary was def cheated

from becoming our first woman president. OMG how things would have been so different for all of us, had she rightfully won. I still think there was some very shady elements going on behind the scene, and not just Russian manipulation. Oh well, we have to get angry, we have to get bold.

6. It will be interesting to see what history has to say

about what happened to Hillary and why.

While E Warren would be a fine presidential candidate, I think her particular style, talents, and methods are better suited to the Senate.

9. I think history will clearly recognize that this was the FBI's election. They rigged the whole thing

from start to finish.

And if history doesn't record it that way it will only be because the GOP have overthrown our democracy and established a fascist dictatorship.

12. I think historians will call out the gender-based double standards

employed by many, including the press.

7. The shady element was known as the FBI. They rigged the election from beginning to end.

The Russians had nothing on them.

11. Yes, it was a rally in Warren's home state where

Sanders held three events, all of which were sold out, including the signed book event he held in Cambridge. (Tickets were $30 and included a book, some of which were randomly selected to be autographed before the event.)

E Warren was masterful, but I have a strong feeling that this particular pairing of speakers won't happen again any time soon.

13. Perhaps.

Unfortunately we're not likely to get Trey Anastasio and Steve Kimock on the stage together any time soon again, either.

A shame.

16. Were you at that show?

The video is amazing. When I looked at the date on it, I had to stop myself from thinking, "that wasn't that long ago..."

I assume I'm talking to fellow Dead Head. We may have crossed paths somewhere on the east coast in the 70's.

21. I was, as a matter of fact. That was the first time post-Jerry where I felt some of the old magic.

I was living in Marin at the time and it was actually a member of the extended GD family who scored me the ticket at the last minute. I went with low expectations and ZANG!

If you get a chance, the whole run 4-15/16/17-99 Warfield is worth a listen.

The Warfield is a wonderful venue, if you've ever been fortunate enough to catch a show there. I saw Jerry several times there too.

I started going to Dead shows around '85, furthest East I ever got was Buckeye Lake. Best years for me were 89-90, there were some really good shows during that window of time.

But I'm a youngin, relatively speaking.

did not meet everyone's approval.

17. While I reject the premise

that the headline needs any qualifiers, I would be especially wary of any attempt to marginalize the leadership role of important women by reducing them to an addendum.
