Until there is direct evidence that Trump knowingly collaborated with Russians, he will remain.

They could find every member of his staff guilty and sentence them to prison but that is still only circumstantial evidence that Trump himself is also guilty. He could be accused of being a negligent and ignorant leader but that is not the same as being guilty.

The Republicans will use every trick they can devise to prevent Trump from being taken out. While he remains he is a very useful shield to take the attention off all the policies they are changing. Trump takes all the heat from his highly visible battles while Congress quietly and methodically, in the background, dismantles the government.

Only if it is absolutely proven that he personally knew of and approved the Russian agenda will he be vulnerable.
Even for Nixon, who had a Democratic Congress against him, it took audio tapes of him actually discussing his crimes to take him down.

I fear that unless there is absolutely undeniable evidence of Trump's culpability there will be no chance of impeachment.
We hear over and over again how the evidence is stacked against him and he is going down but don't count on it until the evidence is not just stacked against him but is incontrovertible to both Democrats and Republicans.

Vladimir Putin.

All we have to do is give him a subpoena.

If his underlings did it that's still not enough to prove that he was the mastermind even though everything points to him. If there is any conceivable possibility of someone else controlling it the GOP will jump on that as being not enough evidence to convict Trump.

He does not have the intelligence required to plan a conspiracy such as this. There may well be a conspiracy, but Trump is likely only dimly aware of it because he is being used.

There are far, far worse things going on that should sink Trump, things that voters actually care about. And that is what Democrats should focus on when they run campaign ads in the next election. And what they should be talking about now.

... of wrongdoing, or even proof thereof.

The Repubs will get rid of Trump because their party can't withstand the damage he's doing - and the real damage hasn't even started yet. By the 2018 midterms, the damage will be such that they'll lose seats up for re-election.

Since Trump took office, the GOP has spent every single day under siege, hiding from angry constituents and defending a man who looks guiltier by the hour. We're only two months into this debacle, and Trump is becoming increasingly erratic. They can't keep this up indefinitely, and they can no longer hope that he's going to "settle down" and become more reasonable.

They'll offer him a choice: resign on any basis you want to conjure up, or go through the public humiliation of impeachment. He'll resign.

As always, Republicans will do what's right for their party. What's right for the country won't even be a consideration.

There's no moral or traitorous action that would get rid of him as long as he continues to camouflage the GOP's undermining of the government.

It seems self evident today that a huge amount of seats will turn Democratic in the next election but we've got a lot of time before then and I have little faith in the judgement of a large portion of the voters.

Fox News will start to spin wild tales in the months before the elections and convince many of the easily influenced voters that Democrats are still your enemy and Republicans will save you from that terrible fate.

I hope I'm wrong and everyone gets out to vote these assholes out of office.

There will probably be a quick impeachment and elimination of him from government.
Then we'll have to deal with Pence running the show.

Illegal or traitorous actions really have little to do with his position.
Only his usefulness as a tool for Republicans will determine his fate.

You do know circumstantial evidence is as good as direct evidence in a court of law. Any way impeachment is a political and not a legal act.
