It is important to say that (in part) these devastating mudslides in Colombia were because of: Deforestation.
NPR reported on this, this morning. I appreciated hearing the truth. I can well imagine that none of the other cable or M$M news sources have reported this important fact. A fact that helps people understand that when we live out-of-harmony with the earth, disaster strikes.
We have heard (rightly) about the tragedy, the lose of life and property. They talk about the recover effort and how much it will cost. Yet, a key fact as to the cause of this disaster has not even been mentioned. I welcome being corrected on this, but I doubt it has been reported on.

It is the same about climate change, it needs regular, accurate reporting. We need hear about the cause, adverse effects and science about climate change. I understand that in Europe, climate change is a regular news topic.

There were some serious questions about clearcut logging done on the hill/plateau above the area where the slide occurred.
