#BREAKING: Dozens suffocate in alleged chemical attack by Bashar al-Assad forces in Syria's

#Idlib, medics call for international attention.

At least 18 people have been killed and dozens wounded in a suspected chemical attack on a rebel-held town in north-western Syria, activists say.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that strikes on Khan Sheikhoun by Syrian government or Russian jets had caused many people to choke.

The opposition Local Co-ordination Committees network posted photos of those it said had died of asphyxiation.
The Syrian government has repeatedly denied using chemical weapons.

he does and I seriously hope (I know it's probably in vain) that this atrocity reverses his opinion because this country should NEVER support anyone who uses or condones the use of chemical warfare.

Their homes are gone, they're not safe anywhere and their children are being slaughtered by their own government.

To turn our backs on them is unconscionable.

Everyone in this country (unless they're Native American) comes from someone who arrived looking for a better life - and these poor people are as desperate as anyone has ever been. Of all countries, we are a nation of immigrants.

Most of us don't have to look very far. For me, it was as recent as my grandparents. So it shouldn't be very tough for people to grasp. Before the election, I pointed that out to an elderly gentleman in a line waiting for sandwiches and he got it right away...

I think most people actually do grasp the fact that almost all of us are descendents of immigrants but there's always been America First types who have an "I've got mine and I'm not going to share" attitude when it comes to the next boatload of immigrants seeking a better life.

They did it to the Irish, the Germans, the Italians, and now the Muslims.

It's really depressing.

Good to see you, btw.

I have grandparents who came from Poland and great grandparents who came from ireland. All I did was mention this to the man in the sandwich line and he acknowledged he had family members who came from those places, too. They need to be called on this. "Where would you be if your grandparents or great grandparents hadn't come from --fill in the blank--?" I do take your point, though, and it's the ultimate of hypocrisy.

And it's good to see you, too!

I don't buy it. From what I heard that this town produced a lot of rebels who went against his father and many in the SAA want this town leveled, salt the Earth style.

The pictures of dead children are hard to bear, although I think we should all be aware of the reality of Assad's actions. For some people, it is too traumatizing.
Thanks.

Those precious BABIES! Humans don't do this, monsters do this.

How long before our troops have to do this to the Syrian people, their babies, since Trump will be on Assad's side via Putin?

I bet we hear...........................from Trump about this. Tillerson won't say anything because someone might look at him while he talks.

Those poor children had no chance. How many in this country will even see this footage? How many will care? I suppose Trump and his minions will file this under "take out the terrorists and their families".
