So I googled my user name here, and this link popped up, allbeit on another site, a post I made here after the coup...It was captioned that I am "losing it". We now have a bit of hindsight for this. Let's see how "lost" I am:
We did not lose.
We were gerry mandered.
We did not lose.
We were suppressed.
We did not lose.
And you fucking know it. Deep down, you do.
Did anyone say, "Hey Bernie Sanders, you need to regroup and rebuild" when he lost the Democratic primary? No.
The FBI became a de facto wing of the KGB and there are motherfuckers on here who want to say "WE" need to work on our message? That we need to *abandon* something?
WAKE THE FUCK UP.
They are helping the Russian ilk with this bullshit. The last time I checked 2.5 million more people want it our way than theirs. The question should be, when so many more Americans favor our left wing cause, how is the right going to win our hearts and minds?
What are they going to do to prove that they are not in bed with Russia?
One thing's for sure, if the media were fucking liberal, that's what you'd be hearing.
Stop. letting. them. frame. the. fucking. narrative.

Ugh. No evidence. No indictments. We are screwed.
Not only did we lose, we are stuck with 4 more years of this circus.

(1,355 posts)it drives me crazy when I hear McConnell say the people chose trump, no they did not, the electoral college did. he lost the popular vote by millions. And the talking heads rarely mentioned that he would have held the seat open for four years if Hillary won.

You are so right! The criticism of the Democratic Party is much like the traditional sexist criticism women receive -- blame the victim.

(81,220 posts)We CANNOT afford to use other people's framings and memes and sloganeering. That only reinforces THEIR views and ways of speaking and verbal manipulations and PERCEPTION MANAGEMENT. WE need to manage that perception. All these are true. And the examples in the OP are TRUE. He is NOT legitimate as "president," and he did NOT legitimately win (not if you've got Vladimir Putin putting a big fat heavy thumb on the scale from behind the scenes to help him win - which the entire intel community confirms).
WORDS MATTER! HOW you communicate is as important as WHAT you communicate. Maybe even MORE important. And it just sucks so bad that the gang with the worst ideas has the best and most effective messaging about those bad ideas. By contrast, Our side has the best ideas, but we're shitty at messaging.
Lakoff understands this. And I'll bet, from the results we see all the time, that precisely NONE of our Dems have heard or read anything George Lakoff has had to say about this.
One other example he's offered - that addresses something which SERIOUSLY irks me:
When the bad guys hiss the word "regulations"
WE NEED TO COUNTER WITH "PROTECTIONS."
Because that's what they ARE.

(1,714 posts)that gerrymandering has nothing, nada, zip, zilch to do with a presidential election? Or with Senatorial elections? Or with gubernatorial elections?
Throwing irrelevant crap into a post about the presidential election harms your credibility and makes you fodder for those other sites.

(404 posts)We need to go further and actually GET IN THEIR FACES EVERY TIME they open their ass-dirtied mouths. They need to feel our power of disgusting revolt when we protest them on the street, shaming EVERY worker there, and making them pay for making choices that destroy the average global citizen. Name one country in which the Republican Party would even be ALLOWED other than the U.S. Seriously! Until it is banned, the Republican Party remains America's Ultimate Hate Crime Against Humanity.

(6,228 posts)Okay you brought up Bernie. Bernie joined the Dem Party so he could run in the Democratic Primaries/Caucuses. Then he loses and quits the Dem Party. I am a very progressive voter. I have been a Dem Party member for years. I agree with Bernie on a lot of issues. However, I felt insulted when he quit the party. I don't like users.

(111,251 posts)in the Democratic Party for a very long time, since the Nixon years. I don't blame him for going back to being an independent. He still campaigned for Clinton and supported her every step of the way. Those aren't actions of an opportunist or user.
If you want to see users, look at men like Ben Nighthorse Campbell. He campaigned as a conservative Democrat, won, and immediately changed his party to Republican as soon as he got to Washington. Now that is an opportunist and a user and your argument falls flat.

(2,065 posts)That Republicans cannot win a presidential election anymore without cheating, gerrymandering and voter suppression like crazy. And the 2.5 million win that Hillary had over Trump proves that we are the majority, and that the future and history are on our side. I definitely agree that there was way too much morbid introspection by the Democrats after the 2016 elections. We actually won, if we had elected our president the way most every other country on the face of the earth does - by the popular vote. The Republicans are f-ing dinosaurs, and they know it. They're on the wrong side of history, and the rapidly shifting demographics of our nation. They are sooo desperate to get their nominee into the Supreme Court and to commit all these other clandestine backstabbing sabotage operations to the democratic and consumer protections we have enjoyed precisely because they know that this will probably be their last chance to do so. There's only so much gerrymandering and voter suppression that you can do, short of suspending elections and turning our nation into a banana republic, and they know it.

(111,251 posts)She adopted a lot of Sanders's best ideas.
The problem was that she couldn't really get that message out. The press was hanging on every stupid ass thing Dolt said, giving him hours of free air time, while the only mentions Clinton got also featured "emails" or "Benghazi."
We can no longer rely on the press. We haven't been able to for decades, but last year was when it had to become glaringly obvious to everyone just how bad it had gotten.
The next campaign will have to be fought at the grass roots, in the precincts and on line.
It wasn't the message, not at all, it was the media. And the gerrymandering. And Comey's treason. And Russia's interference at many levels.

(5,730 posts)groups were protesting his leadership. Even Repubs were
calling for him to step aside. Nunes is saying, he could depend on TreyGowdy (oh my god, Chaffetz twin) to assists the committee leadership to get a fair result.
Change this Narrative!
The press needs to say, "Rep Nunes, who is Compromised by his behavior and under an ethics investigation..." It remains to be seen whether he will resign.
His constituents are coming out for him to resign. I'm far from California, but our message needs to be resign, not just, resign his Chairmanship, but resign!
