No. I'm sorry. I still don't trust Trump. Nor do I trust Bannon is being "sidelined" here.
On the surface, yeah, it's great that Bannon got booted from the NSC table.
But we're talking about a guy who has never had any trust in administrative institutions anyways. He's expressly said so himself.
So he loses his chair at the NSC? Big deal. He's still the Madman's chief policy advisor. He's still going to have top security privileges. He's still going to be whispering in Trump's ear, issuing statements on his behalf, doing all the things that make him Steve Bannon.
Steve Bannon's a cockroach. And if there's anything we know about cockroaches, it's a) they're disgusting, b) they thrive being underground and hidden, and c) they're very hard to kill.
I'm not trying to be a Negative Nancy here. But I don't see this as being all that earth shattering, no more when Roger Stone got "kicked off" Trump's campaign.

because Bannon was likely interfering in a weird and damaging way. SCROTUS couldn't afford for McMasters to quit (if he did threaten that) because he's one of the few people in his cabinet who has real credentials and is generally respected. So my theory is that he agreed to take Bannon off the NSC to appease McMasters, and put him to work in some lower-profile but equally insidious and destructive capacity.
