(4,492 posts)If he gets 50% he wins the seat. If nobody gets 50% the top two advance to a runoff.

I'm glad they are running ads to draw votes from Moody.

(34,131 posts)A few days ago I clicked the "Unsubscribe" link at the bottom of an email and selected the option to reduce the number of emails on the web page that came up. It didn't do shit to reduce the spam from him.
Tonight I unsubscribed and told their comment box that there was too much email and too much begging.
I sent money to a candidate not in my state and certainly not in my district - now I regret doing so and may not do it again. Previously I have targeted my donations to candidates I can actually vote for and who could actually represent me - I think that is a good policy.

(34,131 posts)I get that they need money and really do hope he wins, but the first thing I got when I donated were three emails within hours asking for more money. Then it just got worse. That does not endear a candidate to me. How about a thanks in there somewhere?
Oh well, I need to decide who to support for the races here. Bill Nelson might be opposed by Rick Scott. While Nelson is not anywhere near as liberal as I'd like, he is a solid, consistent Democrat and votes with the party when it counts. The idea of having both Marco Rubio and Rick Scott as the two senators from my state makes me feel ill.
Then for the governor's race - I like Gwen Graham and had planned to support her, but she has not officially declared and there are rumors her husband is very ill. Some here on DU are supporting John Morgan of the law firm that backed the medical marijuana amendment. Andrew Gillum, the current mayor of Tallahassee, has declared and he would be a dynamic leader with a strong political future.
So lots of possibilities for me to donate to good campaigns right here in my neck of the woods. I'm saving my money for the local races from now on.

(1,097 posts)I finally had to block BHO and just made donations when I could; now, I just ignore Ossloff emails and give when I can. Maybe the train of thought on massive emails is that the squeaky wheel gets greased -- seems to have worked. They each did well with contributions and Ossloff's tv ads may be paying off for him. Anyway, it's over in 2 weeks so, if you can, just ignore them -- that's what I'm doing but I will continue to check on his status.
