despite President's 'America First' promises
In spite of his promise to bring jobs back to America, President Trumps properties continue to actively seek out foreign workers.
The Trump National Golf Course in Westchester County is the latest resort owned by the commander-in-chief seeking permission to use the federal H-2 visa program to hire waiters and waitresses from overseas, according to a petition posted by the Department of Labor on Wednesday.
The waitstaff jobs at the club near Briarcliff Manor are seasonal, lasting from May 22 through Oct. 31. Three months prior experience is required. Overtime is possible, but not guaranteed.
Trump has been criticized for his extensive use of the H-2 visa program to staff his many resorts, golf courses, and other properties, while promising to be the greatest jobs president that God ever created.
Each year since 2008, Trumps Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Fla. has requested around 80 visas to bring foreign workers into the country, according to reports.

(7,939 posts)Immigrant workers in Dubai building a golf course bearing Donald Trumps name are packed in labor camps that are low even by the citys unbelievably low standards,
The conditions of the guys building the Trump International Golf Course were the worst Ive ever seen, said correspondent Ben Anderson. Having guys live 21 to a room with rats running around above them; having to work extremely hard in extreme heat for two years just to break even, just to pay off the debts they accrued getting there.
During his report, Anderson tailed a group of buses taking workers back to their camp after working on the course. The camp, he learned, was two hours outside of Dubai in an area that lacked even an access road. One worker said he earned $231 a month, but could not leave because the company that contracted him took his passport.
Besides being stuffed into dormitories, he said, workers had to make do with restrooms that didnt look fit for human beings.
Their working situation, Anderson explained, was described by Human Rights Watch officials as looking like a trafficking network.
