Can cognitive dissonance give you whiplash?

1. Syria is one of those places where really bad hombres come from so we need to ban all Syrian refugees because they all want to come and kill us, so we need even more extreme vetting. Even if they have already gone through vetting.

2. Not quite a week ago the Secretary of State, the speaker for American foreign policy said US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said Thursday the fate of President Bashar al-Assad was up to the people of Syria, in the clearest indication yet of the new administration's policy in the war-torn country.

3. Two days ago there was a gas attack, presumably by Assad.

4. Today the Syrians are suddenly terribly worthy of our sympathy and we attack Syria.

So, we are attacking a country that should be self-determining and is a hotbed for terrorists wanting to come to the US to wreak havoc on us. Foreign Policy played out on a Twister mat.

But the shitgibbon got to play with his military toys.
